Missouri is out of the running for 2015 5-star Thomas Bryant, a source confirmed. Down to Syracuse, Kentucky, and Indiana. #OrangeRecruiting

Believe I read somewhere that the source is his AAU coach or handler or whatever.

We can finally return to reality with this recruit.

From what I've read on PM, Bryant isn't coming here. He told the staff he wanted to see how the season progressed and how we did before he committed, and after this abortion of a season he is looking around. I've read that Syracuse is out and he's not strongly considering Kentucky as they're not recruiting him super hard, and his top 2 is Indiana, pending their coach staying, or Ohio State. Next year has the potential to be even worse than this year was considering this mid-major recruiting class we're bringing in.

That is coming from Syracuse, who just got destroyed by probation and such.

I'd say his top 2 is Indiana and Kentucky. What kid wouldn't go to Kentucky, but I think he is their back-up plan. Indiana is going hard.

I wouldn't count us out yet, but I would definitely say Indiana is way ahead.

He has said he loved playing with Teki, and with Fulford, we are never out.

I'd love to say that we're still in, but from everything I've read/heard, we are out. Yes, that tweet was from Syracuse but just yesterday or so, well after their sanctions were handed down. I think there is a bit of wishful thinking on their part to believe that Cuse still has a chance, but I don't doubt that Mizzou is out.

This is probably just hopeful thinking on my part, but Indiana doesn't have a spot for him as of now.

One senior, and two signed already. No open scholarships.

Who knows with Kentucky, and Syracuse doesn't have a scholarship either.

I watched the game he attended at Indiana versus Michigan State. CBS afternoon game and Assembly Hall was electric. Yeah, Crean may not be there after next year, but Fulford may not be here after next year.

I'd put our chances somewhere south of 5% at this point.

PM is hearing we're setting up an in home with Bryant in the near future. Idk if we are still in it or if he just has a hard time telling Fulford, who he really likes, no. It sounds like it would be KA and Fulford visiting him. The only other HS we're still after is Eubanks I believe, the rest are all JUCO kids.

An in-home is good.

We may just hear no, but it's good to stay in contact.

One of the guys I know is very well connected with a couple folks in the athletic department. He says there is no way we get Bryant. He also told me that we lose at least two to transfer but I don't know if I believe it. He says book it so we will see. If we have anyone leaving not sure how long they will wait to announce it.

My guess is Bryant told the staff no, the staff talked him into letting them sit down with him one more time before he takes them out of the equation. Regardless, getting face to face is always a good thing.

On the current roster Fuller was the lead recruiter for? JWIII, Gant, anyone else? Allen? Issabell? Was he the lead recruiter for any of the 3 coming in?

JW3, Gant.

I know everyone wants to bag on Fuller. But he's the best recruiter on the staff and it's not close.

If you think he's going to be easy to replace with KA as coach and our compliance department, you're being extremely delusional.

I'm a Fuller fan. I appreciate he stayed on and tried to keep the ship afloat. He has brought in some good transfers and some duds. The facts are these. There is not a 3 or 4 year player on the team he recruited and he has come up empty so far this recruiting cycle. You need to recruit consistantly year in and year out to build a program. He has had an uphill battle with Haith's NCAA problems but he has not been the mega ace recruiter you are making him out to be. If he leaves I hope Corey Tate comes on board.

He has not been allowed to recruit since last fall. So there's that.

ETA: based on the results, I would agree Fuller is overhyped as a recruiter. It's always interesting that so many of the people who can recognize the lack of success in Fuller don't see the lack of success with CKA.

Secondly, if you think Fuller is bad, wait till you see who replaces him.

I'm not bagging on Fuller. I agree. He's our best recruiter. I just don't think his style and KA's style mesh at all.

I didn't bag on Fuller. If as you say fuller was prohibited from recruiting by compliance how is that Kim Anerson's fault. We know Fuller attending a game in St Louis so he was off campus recruiting.

Fuller has been here for 4 seasons, KA less than a year.
