No idea why Wright or Gant would transfer. KA needs to hold onto some of these guys. If you are going to develop a roster you can't be losing 3 guys every year. That's not how it works.

I'd expect Isabel to be on his way out, but that creates a major problem.

Backup PG and the 5 spot seem like the biggest issues. Could potentially just play small with

Phillips
Walton
Wright
Puryear
Gant

Nikki and Smith both seem like guys that need some time to develop.

I know I'm in the minority, but I think you can develop players while playing them.

Both Nikko & Smith are athletic upgrades over Rosburg. Nikko is more ready physically. Smith is more skilled and really athletic.

A committee approach where both play around 10 minutes is likely what we will see.

247 has Smith ranked 252 and Nikko ranked 258. By comparison Anunoby was 280 last year. He averages 4 points, 3 rebound, and 1 combined block/steal.

Eron Gordon a 4* PG from Indiana had someone predict him to Mizzou today. It was the guy that covers Duke recruiting.

You can but don't expect to be .500 if you're relying on them.

We'll see. Rosburg looked pretty athletic in high school. Problem is, as with many these days, he never learned the inside game because he could excel in high school outside and slashing to the basket. It took him until 3 weeks left in his college career to figure out how to play inside. Smith's tape is soft. He's no where near ready to contribute inside. Nikko may be more ready but from what I recall about his film, he didn't necessarily look more athletic than Rosburg.

Yea Smith is a bigger version of Gant. He's more of a 4 that plays well in the 12-15 ft range on offense.

I don't really think playing them each about 10 minutes per game is really relying on them. Doing that is going to require the guards to play well.

He's an inch or two taller but 15-20 pounds lighter.

As for relying on them, I wouldn't expect Nikko and Smith combined to average 7.5 ppg as Rosburg did (much less double digits like Rosburg the last 3 weeks). As for the other kid, I'll wait until he's committed to look.

Mizzou is not a school that has historically relied on freshmen.
English started as a freshman, but wasn't really relied on. Most of the years with big production from freshmen have been bad years.
If Mizzou is relying on freshmen next year it either means that KA landed some real gems in the spring signing period, or that the team is no good again.

This is probably the biggest difference in how we view contributing. Scoring isn't the primary way the freshmen can contribute. Rosburg averaged 3.8 rebounds and 0.5 blocks per game. That's just not enough, especially when the other forward only averages 4.6 rebounds and isn't a shot blocker.

I believe that Nikko and Smith will make their contributions that surpass what Rosburg gave Mizzou in those 2 categories. Maybe even give Mizzou an offensive rebounding threat next year. Rosburg's points can be picked up be the guards playing better.
