They are really taking a weird approach to this firing.

Consensus among the scribes...you're a bad person if you are happy KA was fired.... :/

I'm one bad motherfricker then.

No one that's been fired before is happy when another person is fired. But it's ok to be happy that a positive move for Mizzou's hoops future is taking place.

He didn't get cancer. He didn't die. He was fired for sucking at his job. That's how things work, and life goes on

Not to mention we paid him over 4M to crater the program. He can very comfortably retire. I can't muster any sympathy at all.

Most people who have been fired weren't given $600k to go away.

They like him because he is a nice guy. The only reason there is pushback is because he is a nice guy. If he was an arsehole to the media people, they would be saying something to the effect of "good riddance". They simply aren't looking at his job performance.

If they were, they would see three 20+ loss seasons....something that had happened TWICE in the entire existence of the program prior. They would see, WORST record in program history. But they aren't.

They see a guy who will give them what they want in terms of access and being nice.

because college writers are biased based on how much access a coach gives them and he gave them a lot.

he can call people bad all he wants while he plays pretend journalist when his job is just to read tweets and tweet at kids and then sell the "info" they give him.

It's not just Mizzou media it's all media. Celebrating a man losing his job is shitty.

Very few are celebrating Anderson's fate.

The celebration is about Mizzou moving forward. It just so happens the two things are the same.

Someone will have to make the distinction between celebrating him not being the coach and celebrating him losing his job.

They are the same thing. I don't wish him any ill will, but I'm ecstatic he'll no longer be coaching here.

If that's shitty, then it's shitty (but it's not)

I kinda feel bad he was fired. But it's not like he was doing charity work. He made over $3M for like 25 wins. I think most people could've coached those kids to 25 wins.

Don't we have to buy out his contract?

The media (and the U.) are being much like the newly divorced, chivalrous husband who says, "Our breakup is very unfortunate. Mary Lou is a wonderful person and a great mother...sadly, she regularly shits on the living room carpet, but she's a wonderful person and a great mother."
