34-3 over SEMO, who is an FCS opponent that is 1-3 overall.

27-20 over Arkansas State, who is 1-3 overall.

9-6 over UConn, who is 2-2 overall.

So Mizzou has 3 wins against opponents who are a combined 4-8. One of those opponents was an FCS school. The other two wins came by a margin of 1 score.

We could very well be 0-4 right now if it weren't for playing a charmin soft schedule.

Wasn't this your answer on my True/false post? Having a change of heart?

Frankly, unless we get some answers in offense I don't see how we make a bowl game. Just being realistic. With such a dysfunctional offense, who will we beat? Defense may also take a big step back if we go without Simon, Brothers and Crawford for an extended period.

I agree semo. Don't see us making a bowl this year. We can hopefully beat Vandy. Might have a chance against SC. After that, I don't see where the wins come from.

Also agree about the injuries and let's not forget Culkin on offense. Old brick hands has actually been our most dependable receiver so far this year. Don't know how serious his knee was. Though limping, he did walk to the locker room on his own.

The question is twofold for me.

1. Will we possibly make a bowl game this year if we make a change at QB?

2. Even if we don't make a bowl game, will we set ourselves up better for next season if we make a change?

Mizzou was also 3 completions away from an easy win at UK. Mauk bounced a good pass off of Moore's hands. Good throw bad catch. Would of been a TD.
Mauk under threw an open Wingo, a good throw and it's a TD.
Lock under threw an open Hall. Good throw is a TD.
Although the offense is super frustrating right now it's not really that far away from being good enough to win games. The defense is good enough that a marginal improvement on offense will start winning games.

Well, we could be. Or we could be 4-0, 2-2, 1-3, 3-1....did I miss anything.

We probably lost a chance at the division Saturday, but again the schedule still remains manageable. SC, UF, Vandy, Arkansas all have major issues. All winnable. UT and MSU are better than we are, but they aren't elite. It's not like we have no chance to win. UGA probably shuts us out again....frick

You are correct about all of that, but the problem is that we have a razor thin margin for error. We can't afford to miss any big play opportunities because we don't do anything well enough to consistently move the chains.

Can't run, can't throw, can't catch, can't block. What else is there? It's so damn frustrating because there really isn't any excuse for us ever to be this bad. Yet here we are, a 1/3 into the season and I just don't see much you can point to and lean on. Almost nothing works.

You are right though. If we make a couple of those plays we win. There are several winnable games yet on the schedule, but if we continue to miss plays as we have we are going to have a REALLY bad year.

Kentucky made a bunch of plays that they hadn't the first 3 games. Mizzou is favored against USC. Florida will be a toss up game. Should be favored against Vandy. BYU & Arky are also winnable games.
They are also lose able games.

The excuse is easy, we have a 50% passer as our QB who blows dick at finding the open man. He sucks even worse at hitting his WRs in the hands.

I got a hardon when Lock hit Leftwich in the face mask, I haven't seen that in 4 years.

Until this changes, there will be no bowl game.

I don't know if it's an excuse. We didn't make the plays so we deserved to lose, but they were definitely there to be made.

The pragmatist in me says we squeak 1 more win this year...I don't know who, but even a blind squirrel can find a nut. (I hope) We finish with an awful 4-8 season.

Then combine the basketball team's meteoric dumpster fire of possibly 10 wins (1-2 of which are actually in conference).

Together this year may be the worst in Mizzou Football-Basketball combined history. I don't know what the historical record is for fewest wins in both sports, but we are staring that record right in the face.

I've resorted to watching a couple of wins from years past on the DVR.
