Won't need to punt a lot, but when we do....

There you have 3 true freshman that will help pull out a Tiger victory.

Fatony may be our best player. No joke.

mubobby on TB again. This time talking about whether the offense will improve:

I expect it will be improved

How much remains to be seen, but you are replacing the most important piece in your offense with a better player. Lock's abilities translate to a better opportunity for sustained drives. He's just a much better passer with better field vision and throws an infinitely more catchable ball.

Don't discount Hansbrough and Boehm getting healthier either. That's big.

The locker room is behind Lock. He's the guy they want playing, and if you get a little confidence early I expect we will look much differently on Saturday. Anything approaching a competent SEC offense will be a vast improvement over what we have seen so far.

I know people want to manage expectations and that's prudent with a true freshman, but the guy is really good. He has a good chance to be great.

Mauk had several deficiencies that once defense keyed in on made our offense incredibly easy to defend. When you don't have to worry about the middle of the field that allows you to play bracket coverage outside the hash marks and leave your LBs close to the line of scrimmage. Lock will make defenses defend the entire field and that will open everything else up.

yea I wasn't really trying to be all inclusive.. other true freshman who could play and help out:

Nate Howard
Cam Hilton
Emanual Hall
Terez Hall
Josh Moore

seems like we may have "hit" with this freshman class and just in time too.

That is huge. Sounds like Maty had lost respect from his teammates. Which was reflected in the lack of chemistry on offense.

Some nice calls in this thread.

From mubobby on the overall offense to Lock and Hilton, etc.

I don't think it was even a tiny stretch to know Lock would help the O, the only question was how much.

The completion percentage alone is nearly an order of magnitude better. While a few passes went for little to no yards, it's clear how hungry this group was for someone to get them the ball, the receivers simply "ate it up" out there, the line obviously was invigorated and the RB's looked almost like a different team.

just storing my pickems here too, btw..
