When I see something that needs to be respond to, I will... But I have been scanning these boards for over a year now and lately there have been several things that needed correcting so I broke down and created an account.
I am quite a real poster though. I'm just too old to worry about arguing with anyone. Think of me more as a drive by fact checker...

Born in mid-MO, raised in NEMO, lived in Columbia the past seventeen years. I love the state of Missouri inexplicably.
As a child of the eighties, I'm a much bigger basketball fan than a football fan. Just do the math in the equation [Norm + Widenhoffer = I watched a hell of a lot more bball than football]
Mostly, I'll be discussing basketball here. I like advanced basketball analytics, and I like to use them to show where our team really is as opposed what where we think they are via the eyeball test.
Looking forward to adding this to my regular sportsboard posting. Been lurking here a while, actually, and I'm hoping this is finally the place that replaces Tigerboard for me.

Just a heads up.. no one here cares about our rivalry with Kansas. There are no beakers here, so no one will be offended by your sig picture.

Well, that's already wrong, becasue I care very much about our rivalry with Kansas. I miss the hell out of it.
Jumping to the SEC was the right move to make at the time, given the factors at play, but to be completely honest, I'd much rather be playing KU, K-State, Iowa State and the rest of our old Big 8 brethren.
Alas, time marches on. We're in a good spot going forward, and that's all you can ask for. But I'm not going to apologize for missing the rivalry and keeping a sig pic that reminds me of it.

Umm, okay. If you didn't realize that I was talking about non Mizzou fans then I don't know what to tell you. If no one cares about our rivalry with KU, and there are no beakers, what would be the point of rubbing in a victory over KU? But alas, to each his own.

Okay. I (like most MU fans) are happy that we have games in Nashville, can party in The Grove, and cash mega paychecks without the fire breathing corrupt dragon of Texas causing problems. But again, to each his own.

I miss the Big 8 days too. But they've been gone for nearly decades now. As you said, the SEC was the right move and I find it exciting getting to play SEC teams. I get the sentiment but at this point, while I miss the Big 8 days, I'd rather play UGA than KSU as things turned out.

Amen. I think we're all saying the same thing though. His sentiments were about the Big 8 days pre-Tejas. Frick them, frick Manhattan and frick the small, unbalanced paydays.

I also miss playing kU, but until they get over their hurt feelings, I realize it won't happen. And I can still feel nostalgic about some of the old opponents while loving trips to The Grove, Tuscaloosa, Athens, Knoxville, Baton Rouge, Lexington, etc.
Hissing, you'll love talking basketball with ATX. I plan to get the schedule posted this week and ask for volunteers to do pre-game scouting reports or analyses for the key non-con games, and all conference games. Glad you're both here to join us!
