Look at the first game and this one.....major difference. With the exception of 1 pass (I think) everything was short to mid yardage.

Right or wrong?

I suppose it depends on what mid yardage is. I thought there were more than 1 long pass. The ball to Leftwich was a deep ball as I see it. And a good one at that.

There's a difference between running a play you're given and taking coaching when it comes to your technique/mechanics.

Never said I wouldn't. Just the way it's gonna be with him.

Agree & my bad several under throws...forgot about those

I'll add this, I think he has made SOME improvement, it's just that the 1 or 2% isn't enough to make up for how far he has to go.

maybe the staff should consider something like:

they certainly can't do much worse at running the offense.

Good Maty, bad Maty is a bitch but in the long term it works. Hell yes it's frustrating but can you imagine Maty as a LB or DL? shite he'd be an All-American.

I think 1/2 of it's on the WRs and 1/2 of it is on Mauk.

His happy feet are inexcusable and honestly I think it makes the OLine look worse than it really is in pass protection. Instead of stepping up he rolls back and out, every single time. It's infuriating to watch because you know what is next, an ill advised back foot throw that the entire country thinks is good for an INT.

All true. He's very predictable, and not in a good way.

I agree that he is what he is...but he has shown marginal improvement with pocket awareness. He is actually more accurate throwing.

Running game without Mauk is non-existent. O-line is getting crushed. Defense is holding up for now, but they can't stay on the field for 10 minutes in any quarter.

Receivers with some AWFUL drops and spacial awareness. Culkin was pretty solid last night, but other than that, it was ugly. Without a running game, we cannot afford to have receivers dropping balls.

Mauk will never be a 70% guy. He will always be a gunslinger, for better or for worse. He is the best we have, for better or worse.

So far though... we are 2-0. I really don't care how we get wins, so long as we keep getting them. It hasn't been pretty...but ugly is better than not winning.
