They've run the pistol quite a bit. It's been terribly ineffective.
I honestly don't remember seeing it once. There's no way it's been run "quite a bit". Morrison has made no note of it yet this season.

I hope so.
I'm hoping that after the game Saturday night I'll be saying, "where the hell was this team the last few weeks!?"

I've noticed the pistol a few times. Right now the inside run is non existent. There has been 1 run by Abbington was effective.
The outside runs have worked better. Probably assume we run more of those.

part of the problem with running "outside" from the spread is there isn't any natural "outside" to run to, assuming the D didnt forget to put a man on the wide outs.
We tried an "outside" run with a handoff to Wingo and it went nowhere, if one of the fastest runners can't get there in time and we can't seal block in the gap there won't be any outside to run to.
More like the "effective" outside running has been where the RB tried to go up the middle as planned, and seeing nothing there simply bounced it outside.

Kentucky fans are counting this game as a win.
Yeah. Even Grits was popping off and trolling our game thread.
I was Mauk and Mizzou to step on their f-n necks.

They've used it several times every game. Again, with very little success.

I would like to see us just run the ball. Get a lead and run the damn ball.

Last time Maty was in Kentucky....he threw for 5 TD's and we routed the Cats.
This is not the 2013 Tigers or the Cats for that matter. That's was DGB's big day with 4 TD's. Josey scored twice with over 100 yds behind a functioning OL. Those dudes are long gone. Sweet memory, but that's it.
2015 UK is improved, we are not "to-date". We could win...we could lose. What will the struggling OL do against a SEC D-line??? We have to establish some rushing game or it's gonna be a loooong season.

I"m pretty sure you are talking about a joint

Just a completely gut feeling, but I think he's going to light it up this weekend to answer his critics. He might revert right back to old Maty the next week, but for some reason, I think he responds this week in a big way.
I hope you're right.
There's a lot of film showing Mauk's kryptonite... it's dropping extra guys into coverage and/or an interior pass rush. I'm expecting UK to focus on both of those things.
If he can avoid the turnovers, I think this is a winnable game. But the 4 INT to 5 TD doesn't do much to make me feel confident.

yea agree, different teams than two years ago, at this point I'm just hoping Mauk doesn't lose it for us by giving up more points than the defense does. If he can just not screw up too much and give up field position, it seems like the D could win this one for us.
With Dan Devine and Al Onofrio Mizzou used to win close games all the time playing good defense, maybe Pinkel is ready to start channeling Mizzou's past success!
