Is at UCM right now, but says he will be at Mizzou's spring game. Could he be a potential late addition at RB.

I haven't kept track of him the last 2 years, so don't know how he has done at UCM.

If he played at D2, he has to sit out a year if he transfers up to D1.

Is that really a rule? He was only a freshman last year, had 930 yards.

Depends, from what I've read, if you were a "recruited" player at D2 then he has to sit out to move up. If he wasn't, which I think means he just showed up at the school then went to the coach and asked to play on the team, then you can play right away.

Here's a thread discussing it for baseball.

Caught a game last season. Was on TV. Kid has mad skills at RB. He is definitely playing in a conference well below his ability. You could see he belongs in a D1 program.

I know that's what Gabe keeps saying, but there's a lot of smoke he'll be playing at Mizzou. We shall see.

I was thinking it would be very odd for him to just give up football.

Pete tweeted that this is old news, Smith has planned on enrolling at MU as a student, months ago. Football has never been discussed, and coaches have not made any contact.

he's there for an education

Allegedly caught cheating on the ACT. His appeal failed.

Perhaps he'll be a student not on scholarship this year and has aspirations of playing next year? If I were a top 25 running back in the country I wouldn't want to just be giving up on my dream so quickly.
