I'm glad Kim is gone but let's not sugar coat the shite whole that Haith left.

What did Haith leave, specifically, that is in better shape now?

Fan support? Nyet
Roster? Lololololol
Staff? Bahahahahahahahahahaha
Revenue? Trololololol
Relationship to the NCAA? Eh. Maybe.
Perception of the program? No.
Recruits? Not even
Relationships to HS coaches and AAU teams? No (and Haith wasn't good at this)

You all like to pretend that there was some unknown cataclysm that prevented Kim's success. It's fake news.

Haith left all the same but worse with NCAA. The roster is comparable. Could be better

Walk me through the timeline with Bryant. When did Bryant announce his commitment? (Hint: April of 2015). When was the NCAA investigation announced for us? (Hint: January of 2016). What leads you to believe Kim could have ever closed Bryant? Hint: Not a blessed thing.

I get a bunch of people are glad we had a white farmer boy as coach. But he didn't get it done. If you want a white coach, get a good one.

The roster is not comparable.

I understand the sentiment.

I'm always available to correct the record with regards to our inexorably shitty last three years.

This decision has been very difficult for me personally because of the tremendous respect I have for Kim,” Sterk said in a statement. “I know how hard he and his staff have worked to turn the program around over the last three years. However, the lack of on-court success has resulted in a significant drop in interest surrounding our program, and we could not afford for that to continue another year. Kim has represented our program with character, integrity and class while dedicating himself to developing our student-athletes on and off the basketball court, and we are appreciative of his efforts and dedication to Mizzou and the Columbia community. Kim will always be a Tiger, and all of us are grateful for his contributions to our University as a student-athlete, assistant coach and head coach.”

Compare and contrast.

The low road is not accepting responsibility for his own actions. Again, the program was not running at full steam when he got here but this "impossible situation" narrative is complete bullshite. Crean took over Indiana with ONE scholarship player and won the Big 10 in yr 4.

Kim failed because he wasn't good enough. Plain and simple.

I knew I'd be fired the day I took the job. What a beta/pussy comment.

Good riddance! Let's get a real coach that can dig us out of KA's mess.

Hint so nobody in basketball circles knew. Get real man. They were under investigation, hint.

He's nothing more then a bitter old goat, that did NOTHING as a HC.... The fact that he couldn't even own up to his own piss poor performance is both pathetic and embarrassing.

I had respect for KA until I read his goodbye.... Fk him.

Yup and KA didn't get that opportunity. Not really arguing that he probably needed to go and I do agree with what you said about his statement. I thought everything he said was fine though until the last sentence.
I think he might have a tough time relating to players in the AAU world. I think once players get here and buy in those players played really hard for him.

I just don't agree with the opinion that the guy has no clue how to coach. He's been in great basketball circles since he was 18 and you don't win a championship at any level without being competent.

Link one source who hinted at any of it. Blog posts, Twitter, Rivals boards, you name it. I'll accept anything around the time Bryant committed.

You won't have shite.

I agree. He isn't the worst coach ever. His reputation as an X and Os guy (which the Kool Aiders pushed) was wrong.

He is not equipped to run a High major NCAA program. Which is exactly what his detractors said from day 1.

Correct & I'm pretty sure all of us at the beginning of the season said he should go if they don't win

If you don't think that two AA coaches in a row (one who pressed and another who didn't teach defense) didn't impact us hiring a white farm boy who was "going to teach the fundamentals of the game," you may have been out of Missouri for too long.

And which is ultimately why he isn't the coach anymore.

Getting fired publicly from your alma matter probably really hurts. So I'm sure this is just him spouting streams of consciousness from a broken hearted old man.

He's gone, time for everyone to move on, hire a great coach and enjoy Mizzou basketball again.

Hindsight obviously makes it easy to say this was a hire that didn't meet expectations. He is obviously salty and nearly anyone that ended up with that three year record would be, especially when it is their alma mater.

But was he the best hire available or at least comparably available for what we spent? Did anyone really think we were going to get a great coach given the circumstances? I can't be truly mad that this happened if no predictably good, known coaches wanted to coach Mizzou with unknown sanctions pending.

I look at it as he got Mizzou through the wilderness and we can start over now. If we get a great coach now having hired Kim could end up being great long term. We could have been stuck with some average coach not good enough to win anything but good enough to not get fired.

Both ran out of town on their own accord but for different reasons and we both know what those reasons are.

BUT if Haith had actually recruited & signed HIGH SCHOOL players with some talent AND was an honest broker he'd still be in CoMo.
