Britt was clear he wasn't supporting white hate or claiming the world is out to get the black man. I have no issues with this.

I think the Kaepernick thing was tough with valid points on both sides. This is not tough. A hateful group demonstrated in big way and the President failed to give an easy response of hate not being tolerated. I don't think I really like Kaepernick sitting for his, but after this administrations response to recent event. I think it's time to sit.

Take that bullshite lie to the poli board.

I am surprised the NFL allows this. It is their game, their franchises, and their public relations. They should play the national anthem before the players return to the field for the kickoff.

I think the stupidest part of all of this is a couple hundred idiots killed one person and the entire country is ready riot. Meanwhile radical Islamist Terrorist kill 100's of people a week and if you bring it up you have "Islamaphobia".

The media and the left are emotional, irrational, and are so convoluted in what to believe and which side to take that by tomorrow they'll probably be fighting each other.

This whole Nazi thing is ridiculous, notice how "Russia" has completely disappeared in place of this new hit piece on the President. It's pretty apparent to anyone with a brain what is going on in this country, the Liberal elite are trying to propaganda their way back into the White House, and it's failing miserably.

LOL

Come on dude.

The right is just emotional, irrational and convoluted. You just don't see it because you don't want to.

Trump did an excellent job of making up this whole fakenews movement and now people just flatly deny information that doesn't fit their personal agenda.

If the liberal elite are trying to sabotage Trump (he does a great job of this on his own) then it's working. He has the lowest approval rating in history through his first 200 days. I know, I know...fakenews

Exactly. I don't care what some DE thinks about America or the flag. Positively or negatively.

A large portion of the population is irrational and convoluted in their thinking. It's not confined to the left. If you need help processing stuff, I'm here for you.

Both sides. And again, it's only the extremes on either sides. 90% of the country wants nothing to do with these far right/left extremist.

Agreed. I have "Facebook friends" that link shite from right wing sites that are known propaganda type organizations and then one post later screaming fake news at CNN.

My only problem is that the mainstream type media are clearly slanted left and many people are not smart enough to research things on their own. It's on the TV so must be true....types

I don't even get how this is a political issue. Whether you're left, right, up, or down you should be able to say Nazis and the Klan are bad. Saying "Well it's just a few people marching..." Everything starts somewhere. And those inanimate were mostly put up not to remember the dead, but as symbolism for white supremacy. And the best part is Robert E. Lee didn't believe any statues should be put up in the first place. I'm not even liberal, I'm mostly conservative, but I view this as a human rights issue, not political.

The fake news thing is not fake. The liberal crazies out there deal in feelings not facts. CNN has repeatedly been shown to doctor or cut up interviews to make it say one thing instead of what was actually stated.

Look i get it if you dont like Trump, but the reason all the big money groups and mainstream media types dont like him is he doesnt believe in giving handouts, or participation trophies. He is not so politically correct in this day and age when everything offends someone. He is a leader that cant be bought out, yes he comes across a little rough at times, but he is not racist, he is not against the LGBT community. He is for what is best for America, American interests above all else, he doesnt say divisive things about racial relationships. He doesnt defend and send his staff to funerals of proven criminals like Michael Brown, unlike someone else that held the office i can think of. He doesnt believe in maintaining a welfare program the way it is was where it was broken and just giving out funds, phones, etc to everyone without any checks or balances. People were leaching that system dry, so yes many people that were guilty of that are mad at him, but it was still the right thing to do. As someone who grew up on welfare when times were hard, i fully understand welfare, it is a system used to help people along until they can get back on their feet, not something to suck dry and cheat with.

Racism is awful, but if every mainstream media outlet including ESPN (hell especially ESPN) would stop focusing on color and focus on right and wrong and leave race out of every conversation things would get better. There is plenty of racism and hate crimes committed against other ethnicity groups, including whites, but the media leaves that alone. Right and wrong, professional and unprofessional, good and bad, i dont see color i just see people. What they do dictates how i view them, if a white person does something awful they are just as bad as if a black person does it. But if i view a black person as bad if they are unprofessional or a criminal it does not make me a racist. This is something that all these far left liberals and antifa nut jobs are trying to push. btw Antifa is just as bad as NAzi's and i do hope they are classified as a hate group and a terrorist organization right along with the KKK and Nazi followers. They are breaking down this country with their crazy protests and violent actions. All of this is insane and it must stop!

This country is being broken down by right-winged radicals and extremist with their hatred of any and everything that doesn't represent Pre-Civil War and segregated and Jim Crow America. This is what they mean when they say "They want to get America back to the greatness of the past" The far left-wing get's carried away, also but the right-wing spew hatred towards everybody that doesn't look or smell like them. That's why I stay in the middle.

I'm hardly a right-wing radical, but I see your take as a good example of the divide in our country. Most "rights" will say they want the USA to return to producing our own steel, manufacturing some of our own goods, providing REAL "3R"education, selling more exports (than buying imports), and, obviously, many other such concepts.

Maybe I live on an island, but I've never heard the average Trump supporter rail for a return of the confederacy or Jim Crow. (Crazies, perhaps, but not the average conservative)

But...that's why I stay in the middle, too

I didn't say there was no such thing as fake news. I said that since Trump (expertly, I'll admit) broke the phrase into our lexicon people simply use the phrase to encompass anything they don't want to hear.

This thread is proof that sports and politics don't mix.

Two weeks away from the season and we're doing this shite.

I'll freely admit that my views don't line up with 90% of you guys, and that shouldn't matter on a Mizzou Sports board.

This place has gone downhill since the protests, not because of viewpoints, but because people can't STFU about politics and focus on the on the field/court product.

I'd much rather argue about how the defense looks in clips of scrimmages, than have a pissing contest over something that a former player is doing on the sidelines with his teammate in the NFL.
