Richt hasn't recruited many OL that have made it to the NFL. That's with Athens being just outside of ATL. One of the best areas at putting prospects in FBS football.

Georgia and Mizzou are not comparable programs, but you know that.

Look at it this way.

In the last 4 years, he's only 1 the East once. Pinkel won it twice.

If Richt underachieved at Georgia, then what does an underachiever look like at Mizzou?

Looks like Mack Rhoades if he hires Odom, Rhule, or any other flunkie that's getting their name thrown around now.

If you think Odom is a better hire than Richt you must be smokin' some good shite.

Mark Richt also underachieved by never having missed a bowl in his tenure at UGA. We can base it on bowl wins, on winning seasons, on winning percentages, and the only time Richt doesn't do better over the past 15 years is if you go with division titles since Mizzou has been in the SEC. (Richt also has a few of those as well.)

So what does an underachiever look like at Mizzou? In this case, with Mark Richt underachieving, I'd say he'd look like Pinkel.

And I'm okay with that.

Again, what Richt did at Georgia does not automatically equate over to Mizzou. In fact, it probably won't. Two totally different programs.

Richt was fired for waning results. I know a lot of people have themselves so whipped up in a frenzy over simply hiring a "name" I get it, kind of.

I just hope Rhoades can block out all of the noise and hire the right guy for OUR JOB and the right guy for US NOW.

Exactly, Georgia is a stronger program. We've seen what Richt can do with that, my point is that if he does what he can do at Mizzou, I think he looks a lot like Pinkel. Like I said, I don't mind that. I'm looking for consistency and winning seasons with incremental overall program growth.

I don't think any of the possibilities out there get us to a national championship without some luck, but if we keep the needle moving we can get there in a decade or so.

Five or six years of consistent 10 win seasons will certainly move the needle, and I think he can do it. I think he can do it a lot better than most everyone else whose name gets mentioned.

I don't remember if I said it here or TB, but I see Mizzou as a complete rebuild. Not on a year to year basis, but over the past two decades. I like where we are now (or where we were prior to this season) and I'd like to keep going in that direction versus taking a chance on someone who might keep it going.

I think Richt is talented, I think he's safe, and I think he can do it. I also think he instantly gets Mizzou into a lot more recruits homes and southern high school programs merely with his presence, which is something very few others can provide.

Yeah, I'm losing it because Im not slobbering all over a guy who just got FIRED from another program (one he had an enormous amount of skin in the game with) for not winning enough.

Lol, I've lost it.

I'm not totally against Richt, but Im not 100% sold he's our savior and the only acceptable hire like some seem to be.

You're acting like Odom is the only rational hire. So I'm not sure you get to complain about some other poster thinking Richt is the only rational hire.

Odom is the guy I want to hire, sure.

I wouldn't be upset with Richt or Rhule. They just aren't my choice.

I kind of felt the same. But I think his past record and his experience can't help but put him at the top of the list. He holds all the qualities Rhoades is looking for. As far as recruiting, I don't think he will come in and do any worse than Fedora or Odom would. I tend to think he would out recruit both. I think he could step up the recruiting also. He is an established SEC coach. He's a proven winner. With the right OC and DC I think he could get it over the hump. There wouldn't be as much pressure here vs Athens and it may help him. He wouldn't be coming here to just do the same old thing he did at UofG.

Yeh, I kind of talked myself into a Richt hire right there in that post. Now I will be hugely disappointed if it's not Richt now.
