IMO, Richt is the only coach that could convince Kul to stay

fwiw.

I like Kul FAR better than Odom. Kul is the true defensive star. Odom is a star in the making, but not Kul's caliber just yet.

Odom should take the Memphis job. Let Richt take over, he's a great fit for Missouri. Kul takes over at DC. Find a very brilliant offensive mind with experience.

The great thing about Richt is that most of his assistants will probably stay at UGA, so he HAS to take a lot of our defensive coaches.

Curious as to why you think that.
Odom and Kul have spent 9 years together on the same staff. Kul is highly sought after at both college & NFL levels. Won't be easy to keep regardless

Both have said they are separate people, one is not going to go where the other goes just because. Odom will go to Memphis, the next coach will/should make Kul the DC.

Who said it would be easy?

However, a star coach like Richt could have the persuasion power to convince Kul to stay.

If Odom is hired...Kul is gone.

I believe with Pinkel gone, Kul will be in play. This years work was his best and should garner him a lot of attention.

Kul will stay if he's DC no matter who's HC. He's not going to get a good HC offer without being coordinator. He gets a chance to stay here with a deep DL that he put together. He'll be gone by 2017 if he does a decent job as DC.

What makes you feel this way? Everything I have heard is that they have a great relationship and would both like to stay at Mizzou if Odom gets the HC job.

He's talking out of his arse.

Like you said, Kul will be hard to keep no matter who we hire.

I don't know why Richt would have any better chance, it's probably the opposite actually.

You could do worse than Richt. I think he would be the safest hire and probably wouldn't skip a beat from the Pinkel era. He would probably scrap the spread offense, and that would fit Drew Locks strengths as long as he could recruit him an offensive line. Hell we may already have the pieces after we get a real OC to evaluate the talent already here. Since most of the pieces are off the table, Richt and Fedora are really the only two viable options.

1. Richt as HC.
2. Promote Kuligowski to DC and let Odom leave to be HC at Memphis.
3. ????
4. Profit

While we are all slobbering all over Richt shouldn't we at least mention he got fired at UGA because he wasn't winning enough?

he's 145-51, or roughly 75%. He has averaged 10 wins per season every year he's been a head coach.

If you dont' think missouri would be lucky as hell to have him you're insane.

He won 74% of his games and 64% of his bowls as an SEC coach.

Pinkel won 63% of his games in the Toledo, Big 12 and SEC and 63% of his bowl games.

If Richt sucks, Pinkel sucks harder.

He had one losing season in 15 years at Georgia. 9 of his 15 years he had 10 or more wins. 11 of the 15 years Georgia finished the season ranked (7 top 10 finishes).

I'd be thrilled if Richt came to Missouri.

Which HC can bring in an OL and some receivers who can catch the damn ball. That is who I want as coach.
