Seems like Pinkels loyal assistants know that no team will be lining up to get them so they have shut it down. There's no passion in their eyes, no coaching ingenuity, certainty not trying to be bowl eligible. Its sad.

These are the same guys GP has been loyal to, so much so it became a fault.

Assholes, the lot of 'em.

Guys Im going to be honest, I was on the bandwagon of hating Ish Witter at first but I have changed my mind now. Yeah he's a midget running the football who falls down once a gust of wind blows through the stadium, but every time he gets the handoff, he sprints his arse through the line of scrimmage and lowers his shoulder into big defenders. He doesn't dance East and West like some running backs do. I'm not saying I want him to be our starter next year, but someone got into his head about him being a soft runner a few weeks ago and he got the message.

Witter is a good 3rd down back, no way the kid should get 20 touches a game next year.

RB was a strength the last 2 seasons. Injuries to Walters & Steward killed RB depth.

No it didn't. What killed the RB depth was how arse backwards these numbers are.

114 carries but avg. 4.0 ypc
94 carries but avg. 4.1 ypc
30 carries but avg. 5.1 ypc
6 carries but avg. 6.5 ypc

This coaching staff encouraged and rewarded those who produced the least.

Game situations probably need to be considered there. Although none of the RBs would have been very successful with the line this year. The zone blocking scheme was a major failure.
Really think Justin Smith could have had a big year had he played. His size would have dominated man coverage.

At this point, I don't even give a frick if Lock comes back.

Lock has struggled but I think we are really going off the deep end if we are giving up on that kid. People around the nation recognize his undeniable talent.

The issue is poor coaching and the overall lack of talent around him. Since the South Carolina game we have basically put that kid in very bad positions to succeed.

Difference between a Josh Rosen, Stidham, and Murray? It's offensive coaching staffs and talent. There is a reason even in losses coaches and analyst recognize the tools. I actually feel bad when we have high end talent like that on the offensive side and can not incorporate pieces around him. This is why recruiting matters.

Not just tongue in cheek when I say I think you could let the guys on defense play both ways

I said this early on in the game last night. If the offense is going to go on the field and go backwards three and out, might as well leave the D out there the whole freaking time. At least most of them play with a little fire in their belly.

What really grinds my gears is the offense lumbering off of the field after stinking the joint up and huddling up on the bench and laughing and frickin' around.

If I was on that D, I'd be shaking some life into the O frickers on the sideline.

There is apparently NO leadership on that sideline from either a coaching or player standpoint.

Lock is going to be a good QB. This offense is just a dumpster fire.

Good news is we will have a new staff and hopefully they can put together a scheme that will be effective.

Things I won't miss.

WDWWD
Henson
Ricker
#73 Mitch Hall - the biggest weak link in the OL.
Constantly passing to the sidelines.
Kick-off receiving team.
Conservative GP missing time-outs and punting when he should go for it.

I actually won't miss Pinkel. I never enjoyed his brand of football. He never talked to the press unless he had to, he never made adjustments, he was too loyal to players he should not have been, he was even more loyal to shitty coaches, he is mr.conservative in the 4th quarter, sometimes in every quarter, etc.

But he won, and that is what mattered. I still will not miss his version of football, especially the offensive version the last 3 years or so.

I love Odom. He's been a big upgrade from Steckel. The only reason I left him off the list with Kul and Ivey is because I think he's going to be an HC somewhere else (Memphis) if he's passed over here.

Trust me, I'd love nothing more than for him to stay on if Rhoades hires and offensive guru as the new HC, I just don't see it happening. He's too proven to not make the next step

I gotta be honest, I've seen nothing that makes me think hes going to be as advertised.

If Zanders and Printz cant see the field how bad are they?

I think Lock is the real deal. But even Lock's talent won't overcome craptastic coaching along with some of the worst execution I've ever witnessed on a football field. The Oline has been horrid the entire season. So you start there. New HC, new OC new assistants. They have a chance to fix it. Just hope the administration doesn't waist their opportunity.

Also seen in one if these threads something about talent evaluation. They obviuosly missed a few not only with the kids they now have on roster but also some they decided to not to go after. One is at QB position and will be attending kstate next season and he will also be playing for a state title this year for Fort Osage. It was a mistake letting this one out of thier grasp.
