Rhule was an OL coach in the NFL for a bit.

I was reading up on him today.

He could be a solid hire.

Serious question. This is like the second game I have been able to watch all season.

Do we know how to offensive line?!?!?!

We most certainly do not.

Welcome to September. This is why we are all Ricker-haters now. He took one of the best OLs in the conference in 2013 and has dismantled it. With 2 future NFL players on that line, there is no excuse to be this bad. None.

I really am thankful for all the things GP has done for Mizzou, but at this point, the best thing he may have done for Mizzou is to retire so we can clean house.

It's insane to think about how important DGB and Marcus Lucas were to the Henson offense. The "throw it as far and high as you can" offense that was ran that year really covered Hensons arse when it comes to gameplanning and play design.

Either they play already and suck or they suck so bad they can't even beat out the guys on the field.

Either that or the coaches really suck for not playing better guys.

Ok, this may be a dumb question, but I'll ask it anyway. If it's true, as has been posted here in another thread, that the coaches have been informed they will need to turn in keys and clean out offices immediately after the last game... Could they actually be mailing it in? Giving the finger, so to speak, on their way out? Would they do that to GP and the players? Intentionally or just through not giving a damn?

I might bite on that if they haven't been this atrocious all year. You seriously have to try in order to be this bad.

This happens in every job.

I think they threw it in about 5 weeks ago though, not just tonight.

Nah. They wouldn't do that to Pinkel.

And I don't believe Mack Rhoades would pull a Billy Bidwill and ask for keys or change locks at halftime.

We just suck. And while there are several players I would want to keep on reedus' list, there's a solid majority I wouldn't shed a tear over losing.

It's hard to believe how bad we've become in such a short time. I still wonder if it was the result of switching conferences and areas of recruiting emphasis. Although it sure hasn't slowed down the defense much.

Hate to say it, but if you told me we're keeping Pat Ivey and Coach Kul and our new home run HC hire is blowing out everyone else - I'd be fine with it.

I wonder if Rhodes is watching this and changing his plans real time.

Like, if he was thinking hire Odom and keep plugging along, he'd better be realizing its worse than he thinks.

Ok, the redshirts can stay. They didn't contribute to this. But seriously, if this is the best team we can put on the field then not a single one should be back. We are not talking about just bad. We're not just talking about real bad. We're talking the absolute worst in college football. If you are that bad, or you are bad enough you can't at least be 2nd worst in the country, then why are we wasting a scholarship?

I think given the hand he was dealt, Odom has done a terrific job. But the defenses of the previous two season feasted on creating turnovers (and points off of turnovers) and this one just doesn't. It's an unfair knock, I know.

When you look around football most of the great HCs are offensive side coaches. I think, in part, because defensive coaches are by nature more conservative. Trying to control offenses. The great D-side HCs are the ones willing to surrender control on offense: Saban, Belichick, etc.

Guess what I'm saying is if they hire Odom he'd better have a strong, creative OC and OL coach in mind.

The two that disappointed me the most in not seeing were Doherty and Justin Smith. Both could have been real weapons.

But what do we know? They were prepping Williams over Doherty if they had to burn a redshirt anyway.

This is how bad the coaches are,

In 3 years, Hill can't coach a qb to complete 55% of his passes.

Jones can't coach a rb to challenge Witter for playing time.

Henson and Ricker can't coach up an OL even with 2 prospective NFL picks.

Despite recruiting athletic talent, Washington can't coach routes. The announcers comment on it every game.

The cb's can tackle but the last 5 games they always seem to be trailing the receiver.

Seems like Pinkels loyal assistants know that no team will be lining up to get them so they have shut it down. There's no passion in their eyes, no coaching ingenuity, certainty not trying to be bowl eligible. Its sad.

I've been saying, we need to get Hill back with the receivers. That's his position. And recruiting. We need to retain him for the outstanding job he does in recruiting, especially in the KC area. Hill, Kul and Ivy. The rest can just go.

RB was a strength the last 2 seasons. Injuries to Walters & Steward killed RB depth.
