the vast majority of native St. Louisians do speak this way, and I'd bet that you do too. You just can't hear your accent and word pronunciation the way we hear it.

No killz. I lived away from St Louis for over a decade. I know what you are talking about, I hear it too occasionally. Its not nearly as widespread as you claim it is.

It's totally widespread. The entire city pronounces their ORs as ARs.

This is not true at all.
South Country and South City talk different from North County.
West County has such a lack of culture everyone from there pretty much talks without any distinct dialect.
St. Charles has a certain dialect.
All of this is of course not all inclusive.
I can almost tell where someone went to high school, and can pretty much narrow down the area of St. Louis they're from just by looking at a picture.

1) Found a camera crew before the game
2) Gave them my seat number
3) Told them to try and get us on the kiss cam because it was my wife's birthday
4) Kiss cam occurred during the 4th or 5th inning
5) All of the sudden our faces flash up on the kiss cam and I yell at my wife, "Hun, we're on the kiss cam!"
6) Wife was talking to my mother-in-law and wasn't paying attention to me.
7) I grabbed my wife's face and tried to turn it toward me for a kiss, but she inexplicably pulled away.
8) I yelled, "What are you doing?!!! We're on the kiss cam!!! Why are you pulling away?"
9) Crowd starts to boo...
10) She keeps pulling away while yelling at me, "What are you doing?!!! I'm talking to my mom!"
11) I start to panic because I know we have little time before the camera switches to another couple
12) I yank her face towards me and I jammed my tongue down her throat and sloppily went to town just before the camera switches to another couple.
13) Stadium erupts in awkward laughter and boos.
14) Wife says to me, "What was that all about? Why did you do that?"
15) I say in frustration, "Happy birthday, hun. We were just on the kiss cam."
