Ok, my bad, because I did make the other statement you referred to and I owned up to it that I should have qualified it.

Mogray, with all due respect, you got no room talking about who is rational and who is irrational.

I will also own up to the fact I am grumpy tonight, so I'll apologize to any I offended. Gonna go get me a jumbo and take a break.

Consider going for the double Jumbo.

Actually reedus it was more directed at this comment made by someone else.

Now I actually agree with kilo here. He came too strong with that comment. There is no reason to think we cant compete with the correct people in charge. The climate thing is a little overplayed. A couple things.

Wisco and IL have been able to establish pipelines into Florida for years now. This is something that Bielema has boasted about when he made the move to Ark. and was asked about how he will do recruiting the South. At the end of the day, these kids care about the weather alot less than you think. For alot of the top line kids, they want to play in the Southeastern Conference, where they know the cameras are on, and the exposure is a given. Doesnt matter where you play, if you cut it and do well in this conference, they will know who you are. That is a benefit to us. These kids just want to go to a place that will get them PT in the SEC. Tape for scouts to look at. If we offer that chance, then they will come. You just need somebody who can sell it, which is where my worry comes in.

Also, if you have somebody that can sell to recruits, Midwestern kids will flock in as well. Think about this. If you take a Top recruiter from the South, they will have to go up against UT, UGA, UF, Aub, Bama, LSU, USC, etc. Now take that same guy and put him in Missouri, trying to get regional recruits. He just went from trying to beat out a top of the line recruiting school to trying to beat a KSU, kU, Iowa, Illini, Indiana, etc. I get those arent talent-rich areas but there are still several blue chips produced in this region every year. Somebody could seriously CLEAN UP here.

Well, you guys walked me back off the ledge. I've always been all in for next season, (As I am with every season).

I just have this feeling in my gut that we are rudderless for the foreseeable future. For what ever reason, I feel like GP is on cruise control with the program, and it bothers me. I think I've felt this way for awhile, but in the Big 12 it just wasn't as glaring of a problem. I've always looked at GP as the CEO or President of the program. I've never actually considered him much of a game coach. I think that's obvious.

However, this season it's become more obvious to me that the things he hasn't or will not shift focus to will kill him in this league. I just wish he'd quit being so stubborn about "what we do works", and start a new chapter. Maybe he's too old to give a shite a this point. I don't know.

I think we all kind of feel the same way about all of this. We just deal with it differently. Some choose to hope better days are coming, and some get resigned to being mediocre for the time being. I'm thinking 7-5 again, and I hope I'm not disappointed again.

That being said, shooting for 7-5 every year ain't gonna cut it for me.

Well, for the sake of Mizzou Board unity and brotherhood (sisterhood too), I'll drink the koolaid just this time and sunshine pump for the brilliant Mr. Pinkel, even though I'm looking out the window right now and it's cloudy outside with very dark clouds on the horizon. I hope that's not an omen.

Actually, the Mizzou Board is no longer the place for me. I'm not interested in this debate any longer. I love the SEC, but...

Meh...I'm headed back to the rant to do what I do best. Everyone knows that what I do best is not debate. Later friends.

Killz, I hope you meant headed back to the rant temporarily. You can't abandon us!!!

And I'm going to try and be positive about football, and about Josh Henson. Can't be worse, could be a lot better. I still wish we'd hire a proven SEC recruiter for the staff though.

Here's my take. While we may not offer the climate (wearher) of our competition, we should still be able to attract good local (MO, IA, IL, even KS) talent who want to stay close enough for family members to travel to home games, at minimum. I still say SEC affiliation is a big carrot. Mizzou has a beautiful campus and CoMo is a great college town.

I'm going to try to be positive but I'm going to be realistic about things too. Right now the only thing I know is this is a sub .500 team. Hopefully that changes next year but until it does change, they will remain a sub .500 team.
