I'm resigned to the fact that we don't have a very good football team, and we aren't going to have one for awhile.

While aTm is the cream of the crop this year, OM isn't THAT great, and they look light years ahead of us.

Someone talk me off the ledge...

SoCal all I can do is push you off the ledge. Our coaching staff needs to get out of the 2005-08 years and play in 2013.

To do that they have to have more physical OL play. TAMU has 2 stud tackles and the other 3 are better than what we have. I think EB will be a very very good O lineman for us.

Ole Miss gets good players they just have had some bad coaching of late.

One good player does not an O-line make.

I'm amazed at how many deficiencies have been exposed after one season of SEC play.

The record will show, that GP acting like the SEC was just like the Big 12 was his downfall.

Unfortunately though after the way MIZZOU was okay with this year going the way it did, what will happen next year? Are we even able to expect change after the team gets demolished all next season?

I for one am not sure.

You are correct but it is a start. And the way last year went EB will probably get hurt all of next year.

I was a huge fan of the SEC move, and still am for the sake of our long term stability, but I am no longer optimistic about our chances to compete in football in this league. It's going to be nearly impossible to recruit kids to Mizzou with our climate, facilities, resources, tradition, etc. We're severely outmatched by a majority of the SEC

Nah, it won't be impossible to recruit. It's just going to take the right people to get it done.

Charlie. fricking. Strong.

If he can recruit at L-Ville, he can get it done at Mizzou.

We're no where close to Ole Miss. I've learned to accept the fact that we are a notch better than Kentucky in football and a notch below them in basketball. We'll never compete in this conference but that's ok, there will still be some fun games to watch, with an occasional upset. On a good year, we will finish 4th, 3rd if really good, in the East. Just is what it is.

Sorry you feel that way..

I don't see it like that at all.

I have a great outlook for the direction of hs football in Missouri, way more kids are playing than before. Not many states have the two larger cities. We're proving we can get kids from GA and FLA, while maintaining a pipeline in TX.

Plus it's likely there will be more expansion. We could end up in a favorably POD. Who knows. I don't think we can say how we fit in yet.

I think, as the years go on, and the right people in the right places, we'll have a quality program on our hands.

Just not real jazzed about the present state of things.

The idea of Josey returning, does put a smile on my face. I just hope a QB emerges from the pack. JF is toast at this point.

Mississippi will get consideration to be pre-season ranked going into next year. I dont know why any of us thought that game would just be some lay up for us. Did yall watch Syracuse? Nothing is a guarantee.

Realized this probably after the Vanderbilt game. At least your optimism lasted a little longer.

He is making 4 million next year at Louisville. Are you willing to surpass that to bring him in next year? I wasnt before but after that Sugar Bowl, he might have sold me.

Only if he brings Bridgewater with him.

That's what it's gonna take to get the right guy in here. From all accounts, the boosters are ready to start writing checks.

GP is making $2.3 mil, I hope they're ready to double that for the right coach.

Other than a couple of years at Stanford, he doesn't have much college coaching experience. I would like to see an offense like Stanford runs at Missouri though.

Do you think he can recruit the SEC?

I never really get the bashing of people who have legitimate concerns about our future. Its not like its all over, but I dont see much to be very optimistic with in the current direction we are going.

Recruiting - Garbo

Adjustment to SEC - Garbo

I am not worried about a losing season, but do you really think it will be MUCH better next year? Maybe Maty Mauk rises up and becomes what we all want him to be, but we are alot closer on the trajectory of having to replace Pinkel next season than winning the East. Maybe its just me, but I cant bash people that legit care.
