How would Mizzou be doing if Coach Stec had been hired as head coach?

Fair question.

Considering that Stec only won 1 game in his first season as HC. Probably only 2 wins more.

Same-ish record wise.

We really don't know anything about this team, though, or the head coach. Odom has a much higher ceiling, IMO. But it's hard to imagine a worse year than we are having.

Throw this year away. It's meaningless, unfortunately. That's why I'm concerned with Odom's abandonment of his scheme. If the scheme is fine and we just need the players to adjust, it doesn't make sense to abandon in midstream.

It does if the guys you have can't do it. When he gets "his guys", next year or the year after, then he'll have them run it.

Love ya, Walt, but you've never seen a coach you didn't like. If he doesn't have the players this year, he won't have them next year. If he doesn't have them next year, he's going to be relying on underclassmen even in his 3rd year.

We're a long ways from the end of the tunnel on this one.

The new system president was hired to help with this.

He also went to Illinois and is likely a Cubs fan, but I am willing to give him a chance.

Probably not much different. He was about as unprepared to be a DI head coach in the SEC as Odom was. We can hope and pray that Odom figures it out, but there is not a lot to find that is positive right now.
