But a year at JUCO might be just the thing for him. Get out of the limelight, get his shite together. He still has an NFL future if he can get it together. Nothing he has done is over the top or unredemable. I wish him the best of luck

You know, I do too. The past four or five years have got to have been pretty tough on him. It would be tough on anyone to basically come from that background and wind up being the big guy on campus and wind up on national TV often all while you're waiting for the huge payday that awaits.

That being said, I've got little respect for anyone that decides to go violent on anyone, let alone a few chicks. We've discussed this on the board a few times since the story broke, and my opinion on that remains the same. frick that situation and you know what? frick him for putting himself in that situation and taking the course of action he did.

I have as much empathy as I can from never having been in the situations DGB has been in throughout his life and I hope he figures it out and gets the support he needs. That being said, I'm not willing to let a lot of what has happened recently go by the wayside due to the circumstances. Luckily, my opinion doesn't matter for anything but me blathering on a message board about it.

You hate to see high profile athletes make poor decisions like that but the reality is the kind of behavior he displayed is unwanted and unwarranted. The University did the proper thing in dismissing him.
What DGB does from here on out will define that young man's character for a long time.
My hope is that he cleans up his act.

Gotta say...I have never felt so shitty and yet so proud at the same time. It's a complete disappointment that DGB and things turned out the way they did. Having said that, really proud that the powers that be made what had to be just an incredibly difficult decision. Like them or hate them, it's a job well done on this occasion. Not an easy thing.

to bring it back to the program for a minute. We have had shite luck with really high profile recruits. I like the 2 star that wind up all conference. Props to Pinkle for that

Was thinking of him when I wrote that. Those two times he carried the ball were awesome. I think.
