Didn't he though? That's why Alden wouldn't answer Haith's phone calls and forced Haith to formally inform him via test message?
That's Burwell BS. I could see Haith texting his resignation. But I think that Alden knew what was going on.

Is there a Presser scheduled for after the BOC meeting? Anything?

I heard announcement on Tuesday. If it's an existing coach (Wright, Marshall, etc.), that lets them have the approved offer in hand when they tell their employer that they're leaving and handle the team meeting etc on their terms.

Not at all. Calling a spade a spade isn't talking shite. You get offended easily?

No presser is probably Tuesday Morning 10 a.m.
The thinking though is after a coach is selected today that coach will have to notify whatever university he is at if that's the case. At that point the university would have no reason to keep it a secret their coach is leaving and the information is leaked.
Howland obviously may not follow that same timeline though.
Then again though they may announce the new coach after the BOC meeting, but people are saying that's unlikely.

I need them to announce today. I'll be on the golf course tomorrow at 10

I believe in backing up my shite talking. No reason to be rude in your stupid arse statements.

I'm thinking Howland. Unless Mizzou is a bunch of scumbags we would have already asked permission to talk with Marshall.

Would you have to ask permission if you do everything through their agent?
Not sure how that works

No. The plausible deniability of 3rd party channels gets around that.

I assume they all have agents, and based past experience, the schools seem to ask permission very early in the process.

The coach will ask permission to interview with a school after he has come to terms with the new school. When a coach asks for permission, the deal is done.

Except in the case of what happened here in Las Vegas a few weeks ago.
USF asks permission, gets it, Coach talks to USF, and signs an extension here.
That's how I remember every other coaching search going. Ask permission, talk to the guy, hire him. To do it the other way seems swarmy.

So we need to start discussing our rioting plans if this hire turns out to be terrible. Any ideas?
Posted on 4/28/14 at 10:58 am to Mizzoufan26
I can't see it being terrible. Marshall, Howland and Anderson would all be successful hires.
I think Howland is the safest choice.
