Got some info. Sources and stuff.

My sources have spoken.
And I do have sources on this matter.
It is thought that Rhodes is laying a smoke screen for a big hire, but the natives are starting to get restless regarding Odom.
They are frustrated beyond belief at the lack of information, and also frustrated that Rhodes is publicly considering the second tier types before Odom. Keyword here, publicly.
Rhodes has this deal on lock down. Folks that were close to things before aren't as close anymore. Mack is driving the bus here and has his own ideas on what needs to be done.
There's only fear that he'll miss on Plan A and Plan B won't be there anymore.
The good news is that he is indeed shooting for the stars, the Memphis thing has put a lot of downward pressure on the process though.
ETA: Expect nothing until after this weekend unless it becomes go time on Odom.

Strangely, this makes me feel better. Hope he's got plan A locked up.

Chip isn't coming. Fedora or Richt is who I want. Which means we will settle for Odom.

I was just told there are big targets, and yes, plural. Meaning more than one.
I put my feelers out the day GP announced. I got some stuff this weekend, nothing more than conjecture and stuff we've all heard, which wasn't much.
Got a text tonight about Odom, frustration, and maybe overreaching.
Lots of worry about Odom leaving. Those in the know absolutely want him to take over.
Let's put it this way, I knew about Odom before Steck left for MSU. I also know how Steck got the MSU gig.
Odom was/is highly regarded in CoMo. Losing him is something some people absolutely do not want.
ETA: Definitely not Chip Kelly. Zero interest.
ETAA: I have two names, one huge, one not as huge. But both would be home runs. I've been asked not to divulge any more than that. They are big enough that rumors might push them away considering what's going on this weekend. Richt is in play as well, but nothing on contact. Mack is playing this close to the vest.

Fedora is a bigger name than Kelly? Kelly finished 3 seasons in a row in the top 5, won the Pac 12 3 out of 4 years he was there and lost a national championship by a close field goal.
Fedora has yet to win a free lunch from Quizno's.
I doubt Kelly is in the mix but come on.

You are not reading that correctly at all.
Kelly is NOT coming to Mizzou Simple
Fedora is a bigger name but is not a shooting for the stars name. Fedora comment has nothing to do with Kelly. That is why it ended with a period.

I'm confident enough to say that it will either be amazing or Odom.
Which isn't a bad thing after talking to my friends. They are worried about Odom going to Memphis, and not being able to pick him up later on when he arrives.
They absolutely think Odom is the real deal, and 2 of the 3 know football and coaching.
There is a definite fear of being left holding the bag.

I'm thinking you and I know some of the same people.
Hopefully MR is a good gambler. I would bet Odom gets a time limit on the Memphis offer that doesn't allow MR to get through this weekend of games. So then what will he do? Does he feel lucky?

Hmmm. If can't be announced until after the weekend it must mean the two names are still coaching this weekend.
On a side note... Rhoades is legitimately slow playing Odom because he's Plan B, which I'm sure he understands.
I'm curious if Odom is savvy enough to hold water with Memphis for the week to see if the cards fall his way.
It would be a big plus regarding his abilities under pressure if he does.
