No question the OL has something to do with it too.

Mauk's RS Freshman year he looked like the next Roger Stahlbach running around making those great passes,,,but we had a great receiving core and a good O-Line. Now we got guys who cant catch the ball, guys who have no idea where they are supposed to go when the play breaks down... and then we got Mauk trying to throw into 3 Def players hoping to fire that ball into that needle eye.... You cant do that with a sub par arm....

Can Pinkel hire someone to hypnotize Mauk to think we're down in the 2nd half and need points? In that scenario, he's an amazing QB. We have seen it time and time again. When Missouri is down in the 2nd half, he turns into Joe Montana.

When there is no urgency, he goes into gunslinger mode and tries to make crazy plays. Saturday was the perfect example of this. Sloppy and unfocused in the first half. Leads 2 great TD drives in the 2nd half. Take the lead, goes back to trying to do too much.

Exactly. Like another poser said, putting Lock in now could turn him into Gabbert. He is not quite ready and the offense is a hot mess right now.

With Mauk there are OL issues, RB problems, and very young receivers.

Putting Lock in changes none of this. At least Mauk can run some and has proven that he will make plays at key points in the 2nd half. The guy has won 80% of his games as a starter. Chase Daniel won 73%. Obviously the defense is better now, but a little context.
