His offenses have been 9th, 10th Nd 10th in the Pac 12 in rushing.
Again, he doesn't run the ball. Pass heavy spread will get demolished in the SEC. It will never work.

I'm just afraid if we hire Odom he'll hire a shitty OC and we're back to square one.

I'm sure MR has all the metrics at his disposal. If forced to hire Odom, he would follow the most recent positive metric for hiring a DC as HC which is Patterson. You have to bring in a strong OC with a tested philosophy, and actually have the HC learn from him.
People think of TCU as just offense, but they forget when Patterson first took over they were a top 10 defense for 2-3 years but had a crappy record. It wasn't until they changed OC and Patterson stepped back that things turned around. Now that he's learned, he actually calls some plays.
Odom can do the same, as long as his ego allows him to learn as HC.
