He looks like shite, but I'll give him into next year before I give up on him.

True freshman, shite line, no run game, no experienced WR

I've said it 1000 times, when you play a true freshman you can't have him carry the offense. It's not going to work. You need the experienced guys to step up and carry him.

That never happened. Hopefully in the offseason the kid can forget about this year.

With a new coach, new offensive blood, new scheme, new everything. Let's just hope that Lock is mentally fricked from this season.

Unless he transfers. Do we know of any players transferring?

Exactly. WR and recruiting. Those areas are Andy's gifts.

No one is going to transfer this offseason. Next offseason? Very possible.

I'll give him that, too, but the constant hype of his "potential" is getting stale. Most freshmen that have real "potential" make a few great plays here and there that really show their stuff.

Um...when did we see that? I'm concerned

Said something like this way back when some were calling for Lock in place of Mauk. To be truthful, my first concern was that he'd get hurt physically, but the mental scars were a close second. Did anyone notice his first few games he had flashes of what people were looking for. As the season went along then thown into the lions den he slowly erroded. He's a young man, be easy on him. He had no help from the players on the field or the coaches on the sideline.

Eh, I've seen him make some really good throws. Special throws even, but he obviously lacks consistency.

I'm giving him a bit of a pass for this year, but he needs to show some major improvement next year starting game 1 or we need to look elsewhere.

Who knows who we hire too. New coach may prefer a runner like Zanders. We'll see.

Yes. You just hope it's not going to damage him long-term.

I know if I'm the new hot shot offensive guru HC hired to replace Pinkel I'm recruiting my own QB to cover my arse in case Lock doesn't recover.

I don't know him personally. Being a local kid, seen him play. This is a whole nother level. He's been pushed into a role he was not ready for. Most QB's have a year or two to get their feet under them. I hope he gets a QB coach who can unlock his potential. It's there, he just needs the help of some good coaching, unpredictable play calling and some teammates that will step up.

Lock's struggles are 40% youth and 60% coaching/lack of putting the young man in positions to succeed.

Play calling has been horrible for his skill set. He has shown all the tools that brought about praise from Dilfer and coaches in this league.

Our offense is very basic. We run route combinations that only cover 1/3 of the field the majority of the time, we don't utilize the strengths of our personnel (i.e lack of seam routes and option routes for a 6'6 TE against zone/man coverages). Now to be fair a lot of spread teams run simplistic schemes, the difference is good coaching staffs put put their players in positions to take advantage of defenses.

Coaches in this league know what we have in number 3 and are hoping we continue to have the same uninspired philosophy in coaching our QB's. Lock has all the tools and ability to be great with the proper coaching and talent around him. You sound stupid giving up on this kid.
