Without landing two studs in the portal, next year could be worser.

To be clear, Tonje and Grill are not studs. Kobe Brown and Dmoi Hodge are studs.

we'd have 8 underclassmen and maybe Bates? I dont care that the class next year is ranked #4. There has to be a couple of 1-and-done players in that group if we are going to be competitive next year.

Roster construction is gonna get interesting.

As of now we will have about 5 Bigs next year, and of those, the only ones with exp will be Peirce, Shaw and butler, neither are not ready to start. Now throw in a bunch of Frosh who will expect minutes with being boarder line 5stars and still need a portal big, I just dont see many being happy.

Point is, we need about 3-4 portal guys next year, and Unless a bunch leave this summer, we wont have a lot of room.

Yep. I hate big classes. Id rather get 2-3 studs and that's all for the class and load up in the portal. Bringing in a bunch of Frosh is a bad idea in the new world, that's why being excited about the class ranking is stupid to me.

I think Gates is a fine coach, but we jumped the gun on the contract. Take away 2 NBA players he was gifted, and the 2 near half court buzzer beaters, we wouldn't have made the tourney in year 1. It will likely take till year 4 to see the tourney again, and considering what I said above, we'd view him a hell of a lot different if it took 4 years to reach the tourney.
