Next year will tell. Last seasons bottled lightning raised expectations too high. This year should be the bottom. Next year MUST show significant improvement.

It’s a pretty shitty team built by pretty shitty players and transfers.
If next years class bottoms out on the win column, then they may need to look into things.

I thought him an ok hire not great but not a oh no either. Last year got him loads of goodwill. This year negated the run last year so back to wait and see mode.

Anyone trying to justify this season needs to stop. The worst team in the league is never acceptable.

I agree. This season has been far worse than it should have been. A 6-12ish conference record with a roughly .500 record should be the floor for any year at Mizzou.
He’s lost the team. They haven’t been the same since roughly the Bragging Rights game. They played kU respectably at the Phag and never did anything after that.
I feel almost certain that there are serious locker room issues.

That’s the problem or can be the problem with bb and the transfer portal. Much easier for one or two malcontents to frick over the team than one or two on a team of dozens in football. And even that isn’t totally avoidable. Like Kelly Bryant fricking AO’s girl.

Gates was to confident in the portal last year and wasn’t able to sign any of the big transfers. He ended up getting roll players and this is probably why he signed 5 high school players this year.
Hopefully he can process a few players and sign a few good players from the portal. The extra $12 million should help
