As good as he looked last year, he looks lost this year.

Hard to fix or get wins from this disaster. Once he has his recruits more in place I'll place more judgment

I keep seeing people say, "we knew this year was going to be rough", but don't know why we should have expected it?

When you don’t have guys in bball, anyone looks lost. Long as he can keep his class, we will be fine.

Nick Honor should be relegated to the bench and his minutes given to Robinson and Pierce. He's a liability on both ends of the court and CDG needs to focus on development of undergrads ... not chasing 2 wins in SEC (I don't actually see more than that right now ...)

Yeah. This is my problem. If we’re playing for next year (and we are), I want to see more Pierce and Butler and Shaw. And a lot less Vanover and Honor.

This roster is completely his doing.

All I'm saying is maybe we don't press the panic button when we have the best class in mizzou basketball history coming in next year. Let's let him build like we let drink build.

I don’t think anyone is pressing the panic button. He’s going to get plenty of time to prove this year isn’t the norm. And I don’t think it is the norm.

It’s just been a very underwhelming performance.

Nothing to panic about but if Gates gets credit for last year, he gets credit for this year. He has botched this year from all appearances.

Dennis is not and that’s the biggest problem

I do question his ability to recruit bigs in the portal or evaluate the ones he has. Last years team was bigs, this years team still lacks downlow presence

If tonight is another loss, this team is squarely in the Kim-Anderson-era comparison. That just isn't acceptable.

Gates didn’t bring in good talent or the players we needed from the portal to set up this team to be successful. This years team is made up of role players that were not leaders on their former teams. Last year we had Kobe and the players from Cleveland St.

The players that we focused on and spent time recruiting in the portal went somewhere else. Love, Sharp, Ware, Handlogten, Jimmy Bell, Dallas Thomas. We also spent a lot of time on Bol. Gates and CY were probably focusing a lot of time on high school players for next year too

Caleb Love would have been a perfect fit.

We have 3 loses to top 10 teams and Illinois that is ranked 14th. With 1 talented player from the portal we are at least 12-4. Should have spent that money on Love, but the NIL money is spent on football. Gates didn’t get the really good players he wanted from the portal. He got the role players he needed, but the NIL wouldn’t pay for a really good or elite player

East comes off the bench on a lot of teams we have played and will play. Bates might, but what other player do we have that would start at KU, Memphis, Ill, or UK.

Gates is doing what he can and has kept the team in close games, but we are not very good. If he had Arkansas’s players we would be a top 10 team.

I think Gates entered the season happy with his roster and from watching Gates lately, I think he feels that he screwed up bigtime with how he built this roster.

Gotta also remember we needed 2 near half court buzzer beaters to make the tourney. I think we got a little ahead of ourselves with gate and expectations. Gates was gifted Koby too. Didn’t exactly recruit or bring him in. The class coming in obviously sounds great, but who knows how long they stay, and with the portal, veteran teams are the way to go. Next year could very well be a down year too

Expecting better than Kim Anderson is getting a little ahead of ourselves?
