Giving a rising soph a commitable offer is gimmicky at best. Just my opinion.

It is but I imagine but I imagine Lorenzo will use it to say hey, I've got a top 50 kid coming in but if I leave I'm sure he'll leave because I'm his godfather or his brother's godfather or whatever. Kind of desperate.

Either the coaches are good at spinning missing out on Sneed, or they really did like some of the other wings more than Sneed.

I have a hard time believing they are ALL that much better than Sneed. My take is if they are even close, you take the in state guy and develop relationships. For instance, if your own personal grading system has Sneed a 4.6 and some other guy a 4.8 or 4.9, I'm still taking the local guy and developing relationships. My guess is we just flat out missed on Sneed for whatever reason.

Yea I don't know how they rated him. Unless it's looking at how his skill set fits with what's currently on the team.

I kinda wonder how his game compares to that of Walton. If it's the same then maybe you try going after a player that would fit in differently on the team.

Could be. It all just seems so disjointed as a fan. Would love to actually hear what their saying behind closed doors. Surely there is a plan, just curious what the heck it is. The one kid from Florida I see his stock is rising. I know he just made some cuts to his list but if his offers continue to pour in, I can see that changing too. Just not sure how comfortable I am counting on that.

That kids highlight film is impressive. It is a bit of an odd offer, but those 11 ppg are misleading as that team pressed and played like 11 deep. He doesn't really have any major offers, but his tape is interesting.

Looks like this Shields hire is paying off, because we're spending an OV bringing in this kid, Jake Scoggins. He doesn't have a profile on any recruiting site and has an offer from Abilene Christian. Averages about 7 minutes per game for his AAU team.

Why do you hate Kim Anderson?

I don't know if he hates KA but, Scoggins has nothing to do with Shields. He is a Tate recruit. So more Juco level than D2 level, amirite? Also support staff like Shields are not allowed to actively recruit. He was hired to do Admin work and scout other teams.

I'm curious though, how come none of you super duper big Mizzou BB fans have mentioned any of the following in the last week? Maybe I missed it.

Michael Porter announced we are in his top 10.
De'Riante Jenkins announced we are in his top 10.
Willie Jackson announced he will OV in Sept.
I didn't see it on twitter or anything but the rumor mill was turned up that we were in Tyler Cook's final 2.

I'm not sure that's even worth me mentioning, TBH. I did see that information.

Good for both of these.

Ok, I do believe you that anything remotely positive is not important. If we were out of the top 10 would you have posted it? And then when we were left out of a top 4 post about it again? And then when he picks a school, not Mizzou, post about it again?

If you see it, then post it man. I can't post what I don't know or see personally and I hardly follow the bball recruiting any more. Just the highlights.

Being eliminated is noteworthy. Being in the Top 10, while positive in the sense that you haven't been eliminated, just doesn't seem like that big of news. Making the top 2, like you mentioned with Cook, is more significant and glad you passed it along. Could really use Cook.

There's very good players who won't get 10 offers. A final 10 isn't noteworthy. Are we leading? Noteworthy. Are we in the top 5? Borderline noteworthy. Are we eliminated? Noteworthy.

I'll keep posting on the failures of our program while yall keep blowing sunshine up our asses. And that will continue until we see some success. You may want to avert your eyes this year.

I'm curious, what are some of the sunshine I'm blowing? I'll keep pointing out the hyprocrisy and flawed logic. You may want to get over the butt hurt and put some big boy pants on.

Iowa. I haven't seen anything official like an interview or his twitter say that though. The other thing with Cook that cranked up is that he is going to announce soon. I also don't know where that came from or if it is true.

We're in the top 300 choices of Ricardo RonaldMcDonaldson, a 7* from Brooklyn.

Haith should have taught us that OVs and being in the top 10 don't mean a thing. But here we are, pretending they do again.

Iowa & Mizzou is what the rumors are.

Cook has said in an interview that he plans on committing this fall.

That's good news and I really like our chances if true.
