Sometimes people in charge want to be quotable. But they're just talking to hear themselves. I think that was MR when he made the "CEO" comment.

jafo - I was with you until you said this. 2012 was all about injuries. That's plain and simply the truth. I knew that team was better than 5-7. 2013 proved it.

2012 and 2015 teams were an abortion because of the OL. 2015 OL was flat weak.

I'll give you that. It was in part to injuries. But I think I remember some talk about having to rethink his coaching methods after that season. It wasn't all due to injuries.

I think 2012 was about A) injuries and B) Pinkel's divorce.

2015 was about A) Henson and B) Non Hodgkins Lymphoma

Meh, this isn't a rebuild. I don't think anyway. The defense is in tact, at that will be BO's baby and he's proven he'll do a good job with it.

I like a few of our young WR. I still believe in Lock. They'll all be a year older. Get the OL squared away and we can do some things.

We can win right away IMO. The East is also ripe for the picking.

We are at least one (and more likely two) year(s) away from "winning." I expect next year to look a lot like this year as far as record. On field may look better. But I think we're somewhere between 5 and 8 wins.

I don't know what to expect before I see the OC hire and see what the offense looks like game 1, but I think our ceiling is higher than that.

We'll see

I tend to side with Jesus on this hire. If we can get a good coordinator on O, talent is there. IMO our D was top 10 last year. Especially considering how much they were on the field. The thing with his hire is if he does well here he's not on to the next gig also. Peeps who say he needs to go somewhere for 5 to 7 years I don't get. If you believe in someone, being 5 years older doesn't change that. Pinkel made many of the same mistakes late in his career that have always been knocks on him. If he can coach, he can coach @ 39. Just hope he can keep class intact and go from there. This team didn't get blown out this year. A mediocre offense and that team was very good. No rebuild in COMO in my books.

Typical Mizzou hire like I figured it would be. I'm ok with it I guess, but definitely feel your sentiment about the time frame. I know the players like this, and a good portion of the fan base, I'm rather blah over it.

Not all player coaches are good coaches, we will see how this unfolds.

For the locals, KRCG will televise Odom's introduction tomorrow at noon.

Muschamp is very similar to Odom and we saw how that ended. Hired a DC to coach a team with an inept offense. Welcome back to 6 wins a year.

Cruise = there you go. Is Odom smart enough not to let a "Muschamp" happen at Mizzou? If Florida beats us with 119 total yds., we will know.

I'm still pissed at Rhoades.

Ok, I forgot about that. I retract my former statement, there was a lot in play that first year.

He'd better paint in bold strokes or he'll be gone in three years.

When will we hear about people like Pat Ivey and Kuligowski?

If not, then he gets fired and we try again.

Same with ANY coach we would have hired.
