Missouri City, Texas has 70,000 people and I swear we have at least 1-2 on our roster from there at all times.

BO is the man. He's respected and liked at maximum levels by everyone (maybe not Kul, but jealousy clouds), a rare combo. Plus he's a legit football man, unlike the Butch Jones's and Hugh Freeze's of the world. He's a unicorn. We are so lucky to not only have him, but we have him for as long as we want him. He's never going to jump jobs.

I think that Cross is the primary recruiter in the Houston area.

People were giving BO credit for doing work.

And recruits are committing to HIS program, not Cross's.

Good work by him though. Cross is a likable guy and I think he's an asset. Glad the plan is for him to stick around.

I never understood Barry not being the DC with the help of some reliable lieutenants to help free up his time to do other head coaching duties.

Cross shouldn't be the DC. But he's an asset.

This is gonna sound bad, but it is what it is. He's an affluent, well spoken black guy with a good appearance and a likable, trustworthy face. One has to think that's an asset when you're recruiting and coaching mostly blacks. Plus he's a son of the program, which should bring added passion and loyalty.

Anytime a recruit commits the HC gets the credit, even though it's the staff that's out there grinding.

It goes both ways though.

Cross' failures have more to do with the HC changing the defensive philosophy, than it does with Cross' ability to coach.

Rookie move on wiBOs part IMO, wholesale changes in any successful system, wether in sports or in business is usually a bad idea. He should have slowly implemented his plan and adjusted his recruiting requirements accordingly.

As a result Cross gets tossed under the bus.

Anyway, this is a nice get. Our secondary had me throwing remotes this fall.

LMAO

He was deer in the headlights most of the season... Let's try to at least keep things close to reality.

They flipped a 4 star, who committed to a coach, that moved on to take the Texas job.

Maybe let's old off with the overblown accolades until.... He has a winning season?????

I wish that we can also find a few dbs at least 6'1 that won't look like a dog jumping up trying to get a treat out of it's master's hand.( our dbs had trouble with jump balls)

Cross had been working with this player when he was with TCU and is the primary reason he came for a visit in September. That preexisting relationship can't be undervalued.

Dont be too hard on them SemperFi. That is the mindset of Mizzou fan. Now that the season is over, all is forgiven, and the fantasy starts. Wasnt too long ago, Kim Anderson was a boss for winning 1 game. The ether is strong with Mizzou fan.
