Here is another slot WR that will be visiting in the next couple of months. His squad took down the Bolles School(4A powerhouse in just about every sport) in the state championship:

Obviously tough to tell from just highlights, but half of his highlights were from the defensive side. Didn't see a lot on the offensive side that stood out. Not bad, just nothing spectacular.

He does need to talk to whoever put his tape together. They included one play I suppose to highlight his ability to block. He lined up attached to line, engaged the defender, the defender shed his block and made a tackle at the line of scrimmage. Not exactly something I'd include if you are cherry picking highlights.

Ok maybe I'm just asking for too much. Not seeing much on Hawkins' highlight film either. Frankly seemed like a better defender than WR. A bunch of 3-4 yard catches. He stood around before pouncing on a fumble. Great. I liked his closing ability and ability to break up passes on the defensive side more. It could be that I'm also tired of the 5' 8" to 5' 10" WR, though I know we need them too.

Jones has solid feet and body control. He projects at a couple of positions on either side of the ball. He is raw but you can't coach length and flexibility.

Hawkins is an offensive center piece in a tough class of HS FB. He had big #s vs Bolles and Jones in the playoffs. You could set a glass of water on his helmet before a run and he wouldn't spill a drop of it. I like him.

I saw some highlight of Hawkins just a few minutes ago and that kid is the TRUTH.

There is certainly a place for his skill set in the offense and he can add special teams value as a returner. He averaged 9.7 yds per carry and 23 yds per reception. 1297 total yds and 16 TDs on 81 carries and 22 receptions is solid work. Every coach in country would like to have a player that scores every 6 times they touch the ball.

He has a teammate with a Mizzou offer that would be an outstanding flip.

As I am confident that Adeoye has no taste for SPAM and that MU is the longest of longshots I will do my best Freddy Mercury as he would while contemplating the "Missouri 10" and do a pre-emptive Queen blast:

Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone, and another one gone
Another one bites the dust
Hey, I'm gonna get you too
Another one bites the dust

Do you get more joy out of sex or an instate recruit heading elsewhere?

Texas seems like an odd choice.

It would be so Mizzou of us to let 8/10 MO prospects commit elsewhere (only getting two 3*s) and focusing on getting 3* WRs and DBs from TX/FL.

Well there is some commonality as B.Odumb is F'in our instate recruiting.

Actually I get no pleasure in seeing what I predicted happening. The only positive being that perhaps it will shine a more discerning light on the BO hire and retention. If objectively honest with ourselves KA and BO were bandaid hires. We held on needlessly to KA and cannot afford the same "accepting" mistake with BO. Unlike BB, repeatedly wasted recruiting classes are not so easily overcome in CFB.
