We do have a TE in this class with the kid from Illinois. And we should get the JUCO OL from Kansas that was supposed to be here last spring this year. Hopefully he's good enough to start at LT right away. Totally agree we need another WR in this class, but the JUCO options I've seen mentioned so far all have low or midmajor offers, there's no reason we can't go get a 4* top JUCO WR other than lack of effort from the staff. Our recruiting in the 2013 and 2014 classes has finally caught up with us on the offensive side of the ball, combined with piss poor coaching.

I think you have the years that are hurting Mizzou wrong. It's 2011 & 2012 recruiting classes that are hurting Mizzou the most.

You're right, 2011-2013 is what I would think, we had several misses and didn't replace them with equivalent talent.

2012 was in interesting class. Super top heavy & no depth.
Golden, Hansbrough, Mauk, Boehm, Culkin, Newsome, Magic Mike, Brantley all have been major contributors. Several either never made it to campus or were dismissed for disciplinary issues. The others I guess just quit.

I saw that with Mauk suspended again that we have now had 5 guys from the 2012 class kicked off the team. Lots of reaches in that class apparently. Can't have that many guys leaving in one class and be able to absorb it.

Problem with 2011-2013 is we only recruited 4 WRs.

Yes....4 WRs in 3 years, whoever was tracking that

The only positions I'm really concerned with are OL and QB.

OL for the very obvious reasons and QB because I could see everyone transfering and we are stuck with one scholarship QB. It might be hard to get a JUCO kid but it makes sense to go after one.

I think we are fine at WR and RB. Lots of bodies and talented kids who will all be a year older. I think Johnson, in particular, will give us a big boost with his playmaking abilities next year.

A two deep of Hall, Moore, Johnson, Hilton, Brown, Wingo is pretty intriguing.

All comes back to a competent OL though.

I've been thinking about this today. The problems start with the OL, though they certainly don't end there. Unfortunately though, with the incredibly poor OL play, nothing will work. That's got to be the primary area of focus. And Ricker needs to go.

If it were up to me, I'd lose Ricker and Washington. Maybe Henson, but let's keep him for the moment. Move Hill back to WR, since they've regressed noticeably since he moved to QB, and make him co-OC. If that pisses Henson off and he jets, so be it. Have Henson work directly with the OL. Hire a top-notch WB coach with strong SEC recruiting ties. Thoughts?

We're checking in on former 4* QB's in Justice Hansen from Oklahoma who we recruited out of HS and Riley Ferguson from Tennessee. Both are 2016 JUCO QB's and don't have any real offers at this point.

If you really want to shake up the offensive staff I would make a call to Norm Chow out in Hawaii. He has been a terrible HC for them, but his past as a QB guru/OC could really work for Mizzou.
He couched a bunch of great offenses and QBs at BYU.
Saved both Phillip Rivers & Carson Palmers college careers. Spent some time in the NFL as well.
Carson & Matt Lienart won Heismans under his tutelage. I think Detmer did as well.

That would be a good move.

He's just missing those SEC recruiting ties...

4 of those guys are best suited for the slot. Maybe Justin Smith adds some depth outside.

Chow did spent a year coaching at NCState. He's also 70 so not sure how much coaching he has left.

He has coached basically every offensive position.

He also has 2 NCAA championships as an assistant. 1 at BYU & 1 at USC.

That's actually perfect. Pinkel doesn't have a ton of years left anyway. This would be a perfect fit.
