He also had NFL talent at corners and DL two deep. He couldn't adapt to when he didnt' have that talent. He still lived and died by the blitz when we didn't have the personnel to run it. That and Jackie needed a scapegoat to survive one more year on the job so he cut him.

JLD's defense didn't work unless you had a shutdown corner like Bean or Smoot. I remembered his last few years when he would bring the house and our DBs would get torched deep repeatedly.
