Post your thoughts here.

1) Kicking is still suspect

2) I understand putting in the ENTIRE 2nd teamers, but in the 1st quarter only up 7-0?

3) We won 49-0 and didn't come anywhere near our best game offensively. 3 of the redzone appearances resulted in: downs, int, missed FG

4) Defense is salty as hell

I was surprised at how few snaps Chris Jones played. However, he absolutely dominated when he got his shots.

Nick James looked really good, they basically always had to double team him.

Preston Smith is a man. Best game of anyone last night IMO.

LBs are really, really fast.

1. We are going to need Shumpert to be very productive in the run game. I love Robinson, but when he wears down, we need Shumpert to come in and not miss a beat.

2. I liked the hurry up offense.

3. Defense looked legit AF.

4. I wish we would've attempted to take more deep shots last night. I know the coaches mentioned that being a point of emphasis this season, and I can only remember us taking one deep shot.

5. Dak was unable to elude the first guy last night on several occasions, but that may have been due to the field conditions.

The fact that we had 5 receiving touchdowns and not a single one was to Lewis has me cautiously optimistic that we are very talented on the outside.

Many positives to be taken from this game! It's the negatives that concern me, but it was the first game.

1- the kicking game is not suspect. It's out right criminal. How can these small schools get a kicker who can put it in the end zone and we cant.

2- The OL gave up 2 sacks against usm and they had decent pressure. That's gotta be fixed.

3- run game. Last year it was a concern until Dak came in. It's going to be hard to ask him to be a major part of that and stay healthy. We need another back that has some speed.

4- Williams is not ready. I did not have an issue with him playing because of that.

This does not mean I was not impressed. I understand that the ol may have been divided up last night. I understand we did not have a hump due to a suspension.

Hope we improve in those areas next week. Would love to see a more complete domination.

Bell is more than capable of kicking it to the end zone. For some reason Mullen tells him to kick it short.

I felt like Preston Smith was your best defensive lineman.

I'm hoping the OL is still just shaking off the cobwebs. I get the feeling we're still gonna have to put a lot of pressure on Dak's legs if we wanna be competitive with the good teams.

Our wide receiver group is gonna turn some heads this year.

1. I think we need outside help for our kicking probs. Also i think Dak messed up one of the fg's. Ball slipped through his hands and he bobbled.

2. I hope Jones plays more in big games

3. Preston Smith looked like an animal.

4. I was super happy to see the two fred's, two johnson's, wilson, and not much Morrow.

5. OL is not that good right now. Plenty of time to improve.

6. We gotta do this for two more weeks and then go into death valley. I hope the defense keeps us from gettin down early, because it will be a shock after these cupcakes.

7. The 2nd string sub was weird but it's great that Williams is gonna get plenty of snaps to start the season.

I'm moderately worried about our OL. Not being able to punch it in inside the 5 twice worries me. We should've physically overpowered a team like USM there but our oline did not. We won't face a D-line in the SEC that bad.

You are right. Usm dline is nowhere near the worst dline in the sec.

Am I crazy but at the beginning of the 4th, I think, did the band play neck and did I hear STTDB?

1. Kicking sucks. make that special teams period.

2. Chris jones looked a little gased after each play.

3. De'Runnya is legit and the whole receiving looked good.

He kicks it high so it has good hang time to where our coverage guys get to the KO return guy and tackle him inside the 25. I liked our KO coverage

Against USM sure. When we play a team with good return guys I want it in the end zone

@MaroonWyatt: Tape: after P.Smith’s INT, the goal line breakdown wasn’t on O-Line at all. Was on TE & FB. O-Line did their job.
