State has won 8 of their last 10 conference games, and people on here act like this is a mediocre team.
It's pathetic

We are decent but nothing special. The conference as a whole sucks this year

First off, I did not mention the teams recent record. I made a comment regarding how they respond to the press..........poorly. But since since the “ winner” brought it up..
What's pathetic is how poorly they play when a full court is put on them...they blew the lead against SC due to the press when there was hardly enough time to come even close to winning.....not the first time.
This team is very inconsistent in play from game to game.....And in those 8 wins, what pray tell is the record of those teams in SEC play? 6 of 10 at home, so 2-2 on the road. There's nothing special here with that 8 out of 10, good win against Fl, bad loss at Ole Miss. They won at home against so so teams, and SC made them know what's coming there when next they play. Might they get to tourney, maybe, less than 50% chance unless they just about win out and do good in the SEC tourney.
Are they a top 64 team in the country, perhaps, but the way the tourney lets all those small conference winners, it shuts out a lot of bigger players...so, a team needs to be in the top 40 without a conf. championship or rank high in a tough conference, which the SEC is not so much this year.
Not sure what the problem is with the consistency of this team, but it exists, even between half's of games. Some real sloppy play. In the SC game, I started watching the time that Weatherspoon dribbled the ball without attempting to move to the basket.....way, way, too long. He's not James Harden. Tyson needs a few moment to shoot three's, way too often with the fast one. Teams are starting to push and guard Perry more and more which is shutting him down a bit. In my yopinion, the best athlete on the team is Stewart, he has the chance to be a star with more time.

It seems like it's the current era of Men's College Basketball. Just a very inconsistent product and we are no different.
I personally believe this team should be a SEC contender but we are getting out of NCAA Tournament contention.
Weatherspoon today had a very bad stretch of a technical then getting fouled out before the next inbound. Like wtf
We have talent but we aren't doing much with it. So in one hand Howland is doing more in that respect because we haven't gottennthis before. On the other hand we're finishing relatively mid to lower SEC.
Which is better than last every year like with Ray, but it's only an improvement
I have give Coach Ben Howland the benefit of the doubt just because I believe he needed some time to build the culture. But I'm not sure what that is now
