I have not seen the last couple of A&M games but from the two games I saw this year they seemed to be the team to beat in the Sec West this year. Their Defensive Ends were dominant and their secondary looked really good. Their offense was as good as ever. I recorded the A&M vs Ark game and will watch it in the next couple of days. Just curious what everyone else's opinion is on the game? Predictions? I am going to hold off on giving my prediction until after I was the Ark/A&M game.

I look for a lot of points to be scored.

Defensive secondary is suspect and the center of their front 7 are soft as hell. If we can defend the pass we should handle them IMO.

Points will be scored.

I don't believe that A&M is the team to beat in the West by any means. That AZ St team they beat got destroyed by USC. Rice was able to move the ball on A&M as well. Arkansas again blows the lead late and loses in OT to A&M.

We can move the ball on them. They have great defensive ends who are tremendous against the pass. If Dak can get time to pass we can score.

Texas A&M's true freshman receiver Christian Kirk is their weapon. He has to be slowed down/stopped. This should be Diaz's main focus in practice this week which he knows.

MSU cannot turn the ball over on Saturday night and we have to score TD's and not settle for FGs to win.
But this is a winnable game.

on offense: if we hear the names of those DEs a lot, it's going to be tough for us. I expect more QB draws and edge counters

on defense: tackling in space will be key again, but we have to be solid in coverage (or get quick pressure), no busted coverages, and we need to avoid leaving our hybrid guys to match up with kirk

i expect a lot of points...until the OL proves they can handle elite pass rushers...they make me nervous. I do think we win tho as long as we take care of the ball.

Um no.

Arky sucks and still almost beat them. Everyone thought they would break Bert and the boyz but they came to play.

My prediction is an Evan-like display of stunt phucking. Our defense will show out again, lots of tackles for loss, sacks, and the like. Diaz's scheme will dominate. As for offense: I would like to see a continuation of Dak's passing game, and an established run game with RB's that aren't named Shumpert.

Arkansas exploited the hell out of those DE's. If you have DE's that are quick to the backfield, you run right at them. Generally, they have vacated their position which is one less guy you have to block. When numbers don't add up for the defense, it is going to be bad for the defense.

After Saturday night I think it is evident that Shumpert just doesn't have good vision. I thought it was the line, but after the Auburn game and seeing Holloway find the holes Shumpert couldn't I think the blame is more on Shumpert and not the line.

Shumpert is garbage. Carries need to be split at a minimum or give the starting job to Holloway

Who here needs to eat some crow as it pertains to Holloway?

Holloway doesn't tip at the line & is not afraid to run hard north & South...

People need to realize that Shumpert is in the game most of the time to pass block. Mullen has been doing a good job of keeping the defense on their toes with the RB substitutions IMO.

Can't judge the backs and completely ignore that Holloway is the perfect compliment for an air raid offense, which is basically what we are at the moment. He simply fits this scheme better than the other backs.

Shump had one play that was set up perfectly. All he needed to do was turn it upfield, and it would have gained at least 10 yards. For some reason, he bumps it outside for his usual 3 yard gain. That play was super disappointing to me. I really want Shump to do well.

I feel the same way. And I also feel he's there just for pass protection as a previous poster said.

He had to be on the field a lot in the 2nd half of the Egg Bowl last season because J Robinson was struggling with pass protection.

I know the exact play your referring to and thought the same thing. He bumped it outside to where his blocker was pushing the lineman. I still want him to do well.

BTW, did Donald Gray play any snaps? I don't remember seeing him.

Yep. That was the play.

I think they called Gray's name on a pass that went to Fred Brown. He did get targeted in the end zone one time, but the pass was over-thrown. He didn't have any catches.

Shumpert is slow as frick and doesn't see the field very well. I would love to be getting some production out of him as well but if he can protect Dak I'm good with it

They stopped a pitiful auburn team with a first time QB 4 times in the red zone red zone or they might have lost.
