Stans was so elite, he immediately got another great HC job...

Ray still gets a fair shake as far as I'm concerned. Had his grace period to do everything he thought needed done. It's time to show improvement now or GTFO.

Personally, I love basketball too. Not willing to sacrifice any of the three and with the $$ we have now along with a starving basketball base, I'd think we would be a fairly attractive situation for the next guy. Got a decent talent foundation now too IMO...

Houston and Daniels have been pretty legit so far from what I'm hearing, but losing Zuppardo hurts...

I'm guessing he had someone much better before who fell through & we were stuck with Rick Ray.

Seems like we should've given him ANY thing he wanted.

We did. If he was self-aware even the slightest bit, he would have been here forever. But alas, he just kept doing what he knew without understanding of what actually needed to happen -- and he created the hole Rick Ray started in and the hole that caused us to sink to Ray in the first place. Everything that's happened to this point is at least partially Stans' fault. This year -- it's on Ray.

I agree completely. This year is do or die for Ray in my opinion and I've been one of his most avid supporters. I've been around the program off and on for the past two years. He has the know how, now it's a matter of whether or not he actually can translate it to the court.

Haven't posted over there in years, if at all; disremember.

Will agree it's water under the bridge.

Go RAY!

You're good. Just the majority over here minus Bundy and Darkhorse were fine with Stans being gone. Not to mention considering I worked with the program when Ray first got here and heard a lot about problems surrounding the program when Stans left. It was basically Stans goes or the NCAA says "Hi".

Everything is fine. Yeah losing Zuppardo hurts for our depth but Sword will be back and I think we see drastic improvement this year.

ETA: If Ray signs Malik Newman you can all forget about firing Ray after this season.

Chances of this happening went down with us getting Weatherspoon out of Velma Jackson. In saying that, Weatherspoon is a really talented kid in his own right.

You can add me to that list too. I ain't afraid to admit it. I'll also admit when you're going to run him oft, you should have a solid plan in place. The coaching search and hire was.... Like it's been posted, water under the bridge now.

But I am interested in the statement about the NCAA saying hi if Stans stays.

This thread is depressing. I think I'm gonna go back and focus on the no. 1 football team in the country right now.
