I would say he is an ok hire...but nothing I would be thrilled about.

Seems eerily familiar to what you said about USCe hiring Martin. How is that turning out for them?

How's our rick Ray hire turning out??? Back to back 4-14 SEC finishes

South Carolina has more talent than us and will likely win more games next year.

How did I miss this? Was Williams fired or did he just leave?

It was rumored for almost a week that he was going to be fired. He ended up getting suspended for several games next year over some kind of recruiting violation and then he took off for Virginia Tech.

It's not like VT swooped in and took Buzz from some ridiculously good situation. Probably a win win for Buzz and Marquette.

Bundy would have you believe otherwise, however.

Goddammit Bundy, South Carolina has more talent than us? Even if it's true they have yet to win many more conference games than us, if any at all. So you're going to say wait until next year? Yeah wait until next year on us too, with that logic.

Tyndall landed in a good situation. He started 4 Srs and a 4th year Jr transfer this year. They are losing 65% of their scoring. His top returning player shoots 36% from the field. We will find out more about his coaching next year.

I sure wouldn't swap rosters with him.

Its about programs like AUBURN a shitty basketball program hiring a Bruce Pearl and Virginia Tech a team who won 8 FREAKING GAMES this year hiring a great coach in Buzz Williams.

Dont you think we would have hired someone like that if we could have? The auburn job is more attractive than the dumpster fire that ray inherited.

I dunno that Auburn is more attractive in the immediate sense for Pearl. They've got a new arena, but not much else going for them -- and most of their team is graduating this year. It's going to take him a couple of years.

What Auburn has that we didn't at the time we made the hire is support from their booster/money structure to go out and pay whatever it cost to get the best guy available. It is what it is -- but it should never be a problem for us in the future.

Nobody here has to believe me but it's a strong possibility that Malik Newman could graduate early and come play next year.

He has 3-4 classes left to take and MSU is one of the only schools discussing this with him right now. Our strongest competition is LSU believe it or not.

This is straight from his dad not a reporter or some message board.

You and me both and I will NEVER EVER utter one negative word about Rick Ray EVER AGAIN if Malik signs and plays next year.

Bundy will get his hopes up about Newman then freak out and blame Ray when Kentucky gets him.
