IF there was a Dollar General or Family dollar on the square the demographics would be much different

Neither, that video is literally fishing for racial comments. Maybe blacks just don't have a need to go to the square because it's full of boutiques and other ghey shite.

The entire point of that article is so that they could get the mayor saying something stupid. Which he arguably did. People are going to hear "different demographic" and automatically assume black people. Oh well, such is life in Oxford.

How does he keep getting elected? He employed several of my friends in college.

I'm not sure. I thought for sure Todd Wade was going to get it last year but it wasn't even close IIRC.

Incumbents in local elections have significant advantages...unfortunately

Yeah I agree. Wade just seemed to have EVERYONE'S support though. I guess his biggest problem was focusing so much of his attention on college kids who were never going to go out and vote in an Oxford election in the first place.

That's essentially what got Wiseman elected in Starkville. He promised to do all this stuff for the students and all he's done is passed a bunch of bull shite ordinances. such as a mandatory bicycle helmet law.
