I don't see us winning the game on Tuesday unless someone pulls a good start out of their arse.

This is when we are generally at our best IMO...

With the West being so tight at the top, this game on Tuesday has taken on a new level of insignificance.

A neutral site game against a top 10 RPI team is never insignificant...

Our conference record is still on track for hosting. It's RPI that has potential to be our achilles heel. Need to crack the top 20 -- which means this game Tuesday is a virtual must win for us.

This game is more important from an RPI standpoint than any other single game we play for the rest of the way...

I'd much rather us not blow our load on this game if it's gonna hurt us on thurs.

Why would it hurt us on Thursday?

We're handing the ball to the freshmen...

Still a huge game for us though. We get hot and win out this week -- we're back on track to host...

If we decide to bring in holder for 4 innings of relief or Lindgren or start Woodruff etc etc

Agreed with that. Don't think we see them...

It's to the point now that if Preston isn't back for aTm -- I think we've got to take a serious look at starting Lindgren in one of the 3 weekend slots. Woody and Bracewell have both just been too hit or miss.

That said, in the postgame, Cohen again talked about "just how close Woodruff is to being tremendous for us"... So we'll see...

Agreed. From what I've read on other boards, many people are hearing that he's done for the year.

If we start Lindgren, then we'll have to give Fitts a much longer leash. Also, Holder will be our only real threat out of the pen. This is scary to even think about.

We know Mitchell is going to give you 7-9 every outing.

When lindgren is on, he is unhittable. But how long can he go?
You could combine Fitts and holder on Friday. Ask Ross to ball out on Saturday. Give it to Lindgren on Sunday and then pray. Woodruff hasn't been bad out of the pen and I have more faith in Bracewell than most.

It really sucks to have lost 4 good arms.

Yeah -- seems Bracewell has always been good out of the pen -- just really inconsistent as a starter. Woody has been decent as well.

It's to the point that if we're going to make any kind of a run -- at least 1 of the freshmen is going to have to step up and give us some quality innings...

ETA: Butch was telling people last week that it's a pretty good shot Brown is back for aTm. We'll see...

Yea I was really looking forward to seeing Paul young pitch for us.

Engie, who are some freshman arms we are bringing in for next season that could potentially see some innings?

LINK

Brown and Dominguez are the two I expect the most from immediately...especially Brown. McCord and Stover could also factor -- and I expect us to sign at least one more.

Dominguez IMO has alot of similarities to Pollorena -- with a little better stuff...

I think we should hire Pollo as an assistant. He is what is missing from this team.

Can someone tell me why Cody Brown isn't starting? Not to be negative, but the kid has been superb at the plate.
