Not sold on our DC either, it seems that they made no adjustments at halftime.
Not sure what adjustments PT can make when guys (experienced guys) are blowing basic assignment football.

Some of these guys havent shined under 3 DCs, but it’s everyone’s fault but their own?

I'm skeptical on Toney, but also acknowledge that he doesn't have a lot to work with in this group.

LAs defense improved every yr he was there. I think he’s a good one but on defense you can’t hide lack of talent.

I’m not ready to talk about any of our coaches at this time.
We have few playmakers n zero depth. Gonna at least be another cycle before we see what they can do with kids they evaluated

Very true. I've heard good things about him. Not totally sold on him, however, I agree with your take that it's too soon to say which coaches are good or which suck. Including the HC (who I like for the record).

Billy works, you can tell he grinds every day to do what’s best for the Gators. We already have a good class lined up n will add more down the stretch
I had no problems with his gameplan yesterday other that the trick play where no OL moved. Not sure what that was

I also liked the aggressive game plan.
I prefer that to Mullen playing for OT with time on the clock at the end of the 4th vs Mizzou last year.

Everyone should watch the early part of the Arizona State game and see Emory Jones fared....first series he is sacked twice and looked horrible.
Praise the Lord we now have AR

if y'all missed Late Kick tonight with Josh Pate, he had some interesting opinions. he basically said that florida could've quit yesterday, but they didn't. and we should all know about how easy it is for this team to quit since they basically quit last season.
another comment he made is if you walked up to napier as they were boarding the plane friday afternoon and you told him that AR would have 450+ passing yds and 60 rushing yds, what would he say? he said he'd probably be so excited to get on the plane to go see it happen.
he didn't have any comments on the defense and rightfully so except for v. miller playing "out of his mind".

I can’t blame any QB running for his life the whole game. Their OL is horrific
The few series I watched, Utah looked like the 85 Bears.
Sacked 5 times, 8 tackles for loss.

I agree with Pate there.
While winning SEC and National Championships are great, I'm not very demanding as a fan.
Personally, I just enjoy seeing a team that goes out and gives it their all week after week. Of course it's much more enjoyable when Florida wins. And coaches that can't win but have the players play hard shouldn't be tolerated (see Muschamp).
But last year the biggest error that Mullen made wasn't losing to bad teams, it was letting this team quit. Likely because he quit. To me, last season was more frustrating than 2013 and 2017 (though they sucked too) because of how this team outright quit. 2017 they quit too, but there were so many weird things going on that season, starting with the pre-season, that it was understandable to a degree. The fact is, the job was way too big for Mac and he totally lost it. At least that weirdo had the decency to give Stricklin a reason to force him out and let the coaching search begin. Mullen just flat out quit. And so did that team. To me, personally, that was the worst team to watch out of our 3 losing teams in the past decade.
Sorry for that rant/melt, but the point being, I agree with Pate here. It's treading a bit on moral victory territory, so I won't say that some of the flaws and mistakes made in the Tennessee loss are acceptable, but the fact that the team didn't quit was refreshing to see and a good sign for the future.

I missed the last half of the 4th. Didn’t realize we actually had a chance to win at the end.
It was still 21-38 when I had to walk away.

So my take on Saturday night.
1) Offense was better, AR looked good again.
2) Defense, if you can't say anything nice, don't say nothing at all. I have nothing to say.
3) Napier has a huge pair, scared money don't make money!
4) I like the fight in this team, I hope they don't quit like Mullen teams did.
5) 8 wins is still a possibility, but with this defense, who knows?
6) Napier is the right coach for UF, we just need to have patience, not a virtue for a lot of Gator fans.
GO GATORS!
