Only gave up 16.8 PPG this year, and that includes all of the injuries on defense.

Muschamp's last 2 years he gave up 21.1 both years.

These schedules aren't comparable.

Had UF played Charlotte's schedule, for example, they would have been 11-1, maybe even 12-0 because Louisville wasn't THAT good, and they would have been statistically one of the best teams in the country on both sides of the ball.

It's all relative.

I recall despite all of the injuries ect we hung with Bama just fine until our QB handed them the ball and easy pts.

How'd it do during the 1st 2 years? I like how you guys act like WM was only here in 2013&2014 when you cherry pick your stats.

Because the team that won 4 games and got WM fired is the team Mac was handed. You know, the one he won 10 games and the East with.

Duh

Out of 127 schools.

That's what matters. That's the only number I cared about in your whole post. There's your improvement. That's what we build on, so that this time next year, hopefully, we'll be a top 10 team.

What fricking game were you watching? UF hanged with bama for a qtr. Yay for moral victories. You guys should go root for FAU or temple. You guys can't be gator fans. Real gator fans don't celebrate East titles or hanging with good teams for a quarter. We celebrate winning the SEC and beating the good teams like Bama, OSU, Oklahoma. Please leave your fan cards at the door. Thanks.

Florida gave up 20.31 points per game in 2011 and 14.46 in 2012.

2012 may go down as one of UF's best defenses of all time.

Gotta give credit where credit is due - that 2012 team was legit. But of course, it had a NFL coach as DC, a ton of draft picks from Meyer's last good class, and was a big statistical outlier from every other year Muschamp was the coach.

Muschamp scoring defense:
2011: 20.31
2012: 14.46
2013: 21.1
2014: 21.1

I think there may be an outlier here....

There was no hanging with Alabama. UF was run the frick out of the gym.

It was 33-16 at the half.

What game were you watching?

Dont be mad about the fact that despite all the stats you wanna throw in everyones face, Mac won more games in his first 2 years than WM won in 3 of his 4 years combined.

The game where UF had held Bama to negative yards most of the first qtr and if not for the QB handing them easy points when the team was playing hard its a different game.

If Appleby just wasn't such a frick up

Gift wrapped them 17 points. It should've been 17-14 at the half, and probably 38-21 final. Still not good, but I don't think the final score indicated what kind of game it actually was. If I remember correctly, we almost scored late in the 3rd to make it 33-23, correct?

None of that matters though. We lost because we didn't take care of the ball and we just couldn't handle them up front. Nobody could though, not even Clemson. We just gotta keep improving. I have faith in Mac.

:Insert obligatory frick you TJ:

the OL will improve talent wise. And in production once we have a QB who can keep defenses honest.

Hard to run with 8 plus in the box

Absolutely -- the major difference is that McElwain has run uptempo, slow tempo and normal pacing a lot of the games -- Muschamp ran a super, turtle slow tempo to give us fool's gold on our stats.

But you can definitely see a major impovement schematically, and with far less talent than what Muschamp inherited and recruited.

Whoa whoa whoa - UF had 2 good drives all game. between their two scoring drives in the first half, UF had exactly 1 first down in 7 series. 1.

Alabama destroyed them. It was 33-9 before we knew what happened.

yards may not directly win games, but accumulating yards to cross the goal to score actual points does win games. we're not doing enough of that. i don't get what's so hard for you guys to understand that.

I think everyone understands that.

I don't think everyone understands the call to fire Mac that you guys have jumped on.

Ultimately, it's his job to win games. How that happens isn't really as important as the actual winning and losing.

19 (really 20) wins in 2 years is the best 2 year stretch since 2009-2010, when UF won 13 and 7 games, to get to 20 wins over 2 seasons.

If the wins decrease, you will see the number of people on your bandwagon grow.

Whats so hard to understand? Stats can say whatever you want them to say. But at the end of the day all that matters is winning. And we have won more the past two seasons than we have recently

Why is that so hard to understand?

We all want this team to be the best, but only a fool would say they havent improved from what they were 2 years ago overall.
