What he walked into and the success he's had with that shite he walked into he's gonna get another season.

Honestly, unless we get completely obliterated by every team left on the schedule he'll stick around, and it's better for our program.

Sending the signal: Hey, even if you get some 10 win seasons and win your division with severe gaps in the depth chart -- we're still gonna fire you.

Ain't a good look, even for a lot of money.

LSU proved how bare the cubbard is. A top job in the country, a year headstart, and they hired their DL Coach.

We cant start over with some unknown at this point. This class will be a game changer if we can hold it together, im willing to give Mac time but the playcslling has to improve.

Because they didn't go to the SEC Championship game since 2012.

Wanna guess who did?

Smart lucked out on the offensive side and has maintained the defense. Georgia was winning 10 games a season 5 out of their last 4 years.

He didn't luck out. That dude can just flat out coach and put a staff together and he is already recruiting better then McElwain.

The one thing I will say, and the one thing I find most damning to be honest, is that Franks should be better, red shirt or not. He was highly recruited, and if you look at the offers he received, it's like a who's who of Top 10 programs.

So did Clemson, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Michigan (among many others) all get it wrong, or does our QB development just suck?

I know which I believe is more probable.

You said it all Lucius. They either can't develop a QB or are afraid to go through the growing pains. It's why they always go after transfers so hard imo.

Bull fricking shite.

He walked into a team that had 10 wins a season five out of the six seasons BEFORE HE EVEN STEPPED FOOT ON CAMPUS.

He had two upperclassmen five star running backs.

He had a five star quarterback.

He had a five star receiver, four stars behind him.

An NFL-Bound tight end, 4 stars, super seasoned.

His offensive line had double the starts and years as McElwain's.

That's pretty fricking lucky to ''stumble'' into a program winning like that.

Similarly, look at how he's developing his quarterbacks.

10 - 16 for 108 Yards.

7 - 11 for 102 yards.

Which one is Franks and which one is Fromm?

If we had Chubb and Michel, we could probably run every fricking down, too and win every game. They have more seniors on offense than we have seniors and juniors combined.

Georgia was/is LOADED.

Georgia had, on average, the 8th top recruiting class in the nation for the last five years.

I love you, olemc, but frick Kirby lucked out so fricking much. What's worse though, is he took that team and they dropped off a cliff last year -- this year having seniors and juniors, high stars and many starts is really good for him.

He's probably an average coach who inherited an amazing team, fortunate for him.

Found out last year, too.

Losing seasons vs. 4 ten win seasons.

20 - 6 last two years since Kirby got in.

vs. 10 - 13.

Georgia had more the same amount of wins in their last season under Richt than the last two seasons combined before McElwain stepped on campus.

That McElwain can't overcome losing his entire productivity on offense due to fraud/injury and run out his freshman and beat a team loaded with five stars all over the field isn't an indictment or a ''who's a better coach''.

Do you think McElwain would have decent results at Georgia? I won't hold my breath on your answer.

Muschamp went 11 - 2 his second year riding upperclassmen. Watch what happens when Chubb and Michel aren't touching it 30 times a game.

He would probably be about the same as he is here. He would of brought Nuss up there with him.

Well we all know who Strickin's home-run hire will be. But Mullen had his detractors while in Gainesville, including Foley IIRC. I guess winning has a way of changing people's minds.

You ever talk to any of those detractors that had any serious say? They still can't stand him if you do talk to them. If you mean detractors on message board, well yeah, a lot of them would hire Pol Pot if he'd get them to the playoffs.

I can't stand that guy and would be absolutely disgusted if we were to hire him. Even MSU fans who interact with him regularly and love him winning admit that he'd be the last person on Earth they'd want to come over for dinner. I'm not sure I could watch a team he coached. There's got to be someone out there who's a good coach that also isn't a complete a-hole.

There's a reason no one has hired him away from MSU, and it sure as hell isn't because he hasn't wanted to get out of there.

I have to laugh at the comedy this post has become....but I will wade into it anyway.

First, as Straw pointed out out, Franks was a 4 star recruit, not five...but still a good QB to sign and let him mature. A lot of you folks were all crying for Franks..even as I warned repeatedly that he was not ready. Look at his build....he is skinny as hell and needs weight room and training table. I cringed when I heard he would start the meatchicken game....it was just unfair for him. Now we have no choices but Franks.

I disagree with you a lot Straw about Muschamp and we have had those battles. No need to rehash it, BUT thank God he left us with a damn good defense. Mac has recruited well the past year...they are now all over the field playing....defense and offense.

Mac is here through 2018 and why bellyache when it does no damn good? He doesn't deserve to be fired yet. After 2018 and we suck...ok. We still don't know how the rest of 2017 will turn out, the gloom and doomers need to hitch up their pants.
