Hope you all are happy with running off Mike White just to replace him with another, less enthusiastic, Mike White.
Underwhelming hire, IMO. But I hope he's able to turn things around. I really hope I am wrong.

I don't remember SS asking my opinion.
But it was time, and I am usually the guy that gives coaches more than deserved time. He just wasn't getting the job done. Hopefully the new guy will be better, but who knows.
I know that i will support him until he has time to attempt to build the program to a higher level.

I'm excited...young coach and worked under Bruce Pearl. SF had a good team this year. I wish him success.

Apparently Stricklin just doesn't give a Frick about Basketball. Of all the people they could have interviewed and took there time with this hire. They found and hired Mike White 2.0. This guy will not make one ncaa tournament appearance during his time at Florida!!!!!

I'm not overly excited about the hire. But, I don't watch San Francisco basketball, and don't know anything about the guy. But, you at least have to give the guy a chance.

I’ll reserve judgement until he’s actually had a chance to coach a couple of games. At first glance, it seems underwhelming to hire a coach that’s 57-36 (.613) overall and has a 23-22 (.511) in the West Coast Conference.
I just wish Scott would have taken a little more time and gone after a bigger name if it’s true that we saved $8mil in buyout and Georgia really gave us $1.25mil to take MW.

I think it's a decent hire, but I think we're going to need to be a bit patient. We're going to be bad next year. Reeves could be a star and Lane is solid but there's not a lot of young talent on this roster otherwise.
Firing a coach after a meh first three years is probably the worst thing that could happen to this program.

Under Mike White, the fans rushed the court for beating Auburn.
That's right, Auburn. In Basketball.
Auburn is not Duke or Kentucky and was a fraud all year.
Yet Florida basketball under Mike White had fallen so badly that beating Auburn was considered a big deal.
Maybe this new guy will suck too. Maybe even worse.
We'll see. But we've already seen what Mike White brought to the table, and I'm personally glad we won't have to seen it again.

I don't know if everyone on here listen to the Florida Basketball Hour podcast, but it provides some great insight. They do an incredible job breaking everything down. Their newest pods about the hire and why it was time for White to leave are some really good listens.

It's a multi-million dollar job. If you aren't able to win, you shouldn't be kept around. It was way past time for Mike White to go. I will give this guy a chance and see what he can do. We will know pretty quickly if he is the guy or not, but I am all for giving him 3/4 years unless he face plants.

This is one of dumbest narratives ever. The decision makers at UF, don't or shouldn't care what the fan base says on Twitter. And if they do they shouldn't be in their position.
The only fans that have Stricklin's ear are the big money boosters. And I'd bet they're not on Twitter or message boards.

Too soon to say about Golden. Early results, not good so far. It might prove to be a mistake on Stricklin's part to have hired him.
However, Mike White was not working out here.

We lost to Texas Southern in year 7 of Mike White. Stop blaming the fans for wanting better and blame the AD for hiring poorly.
