It's saban and the 13 dwarfs. Early to mid 2000s was the peak of the SEC

Agreed. I do think there is some legitimacy in the Saban scared a lot away. Or at least pushed away good coaches like Miles because no one can get past the monster. I think it's pretty fair to say he is top five all time, if not the best ever. Simply incredible what he has built.
I miss being the big dog. Spurrier years and the Meyer years were just so much fun to be a part of. Dominating the SEC was such an amazing feeling. No matter who we hire, it won't be like that with Saban here. Can't wait till that man retires.
Seriously though. Georgia, Florida, LSU, Tenn all hired up and coming coaches or brand new coaches. That is crazy with the money at these programs that none went for a big name and landed one.
