Not necessarily.

I think he needs to go 3-1 the last 4 games he will have to beat Ark or Tucky at home and win both games on the road at uga & Vandy not sure that will happen losing to 8T4 was a very bad loss. Ifvthey had won that game it give them a little breathing room but not now.

I don't know, I believe this win just shows how inconsistent
Mike White teams are. They will probably lose to Georgia and or Vandy and beat Kentucky, Who knows???

I think the writing is on the wall for White.

Unless he wins out the reg season and the SEC tourney and makes a deep tourney run, I don't think he's going to be back next year, even if he somehow beat KY and/or Ark.

I don’t even know why this is a discussion. Get his arse out of Gainesville. His body of work isn’t good and we are getting worse every year. Have we gotten to the point where fans are so worn down that they accept a coach who will need the very last weekend and the SEC tournament to have a chance at even making the tournament? He’s not even won a second round game with his own players. Let’s call this experiment over and move on.

Well what good did it do to beat auburn then lose to arky.

No way florida wins the last 3 we just said bye bye to the tournament tonight. Hey for a consolation prize probably get a 2 seed in

Not
In
Tournament

tournament!!! they should do away with any other post season tournament. But the big dance.

Pretty much because Stricklin didn't pull the trigger earlier. I was hoping Mike White would've gotten fired in the 19-20 season, but the pandemic canceling the tournament probably bought him another year, which he snuck into the tourney before losing to oral roberts

I agree though, it's beyond time to move on..

Someone on another Gator forum posted this about MW:

quote:

Neil Blackmon said on stadium and gale that there is a chance that Mike White steps down at the end of the year. He didn’t say he’s hearing that. That’s just speculation on his part from looking at how things are going. Thinks there is mutual interest with Butler and his kids are getting old enough that they understand the hate and can’t even go to the games anymore. Said UF is not going to fire him. Said he is the 2nd most well liked coach at UF behind Jenny Rowland. Said that would be the best case scenario for both sides.

Something needs to be done because this game is pathetic right now. They look so undisciplined.

If he loses to Aggy again, this has to be IT, right?

Per Neil Blackmon FWIW:

quote:

There are whispers, however, that White may be looking to make a graceful exit. Shaka Smart did this at Texas last offseason, jumping on a less high-profile, but still high-quality job, at Marquette. White may find a similar move, to say, a respected Big East program like Butler, equally appealing. Should the job open at his alma mater Ole Miss, perhaps there would be mutual interest.

As for Florida, they may view a departure by White as an opportunity for both sides to gain a fresh start. Should White show interest elsewhere, it’s distinctly possible the Gators may be willing to let him walk away.

Mark Long was just on the radio saying he'd be shocked if Mike White is not at Ole Miss next year. The sentiment seems to be that he is going to leave. Think everyone needs a fresh start.

I really hope so.

I have no ill will towards White, like I did towards Mullen, but it's time to move on.
