Thanks, couldn't think of Shawn. Need him and Brad Stewart and Jeawon Taylor to all step up with Chauncey and Washington both dinged up. Hate to say it; but it's probably not a bad thing for these guys to get the reps over Washington. There's a reason Washington has been here so long.

Honestly, I'm tired of seeing Washington woefully out of position, late to the ball and...honestly, just slow. Him and Dawson.

UGA

Our turnaround is more attributable to our depth than any particular frontline talent with the exception of Roquan Smith, imo.

UGA rotates 5 backs, 4 TEs, 6-8 WRs, has some playable OL depth, and about 20 players with the 1s on defense. That is ultimately difficult to hold up against and is where Smart's recruiting impact is showing the most.

This grading is a bit harsh. But I think the big point is that the first and 2nd recruiting classes under McElwain haven't panned out yet.

2015
Ivey: A
Scarlett: B+ - was UF's best RB entering the season - suspension can't lower grades
AC81: B+ - was UF's best WR entering the season - suspension can't lower grades
Cronkrite: D - Contributed before transfer
Jordan: C - Tyler is in the 6 deep on the OL
Williamson: F
Daniel I: F
Zuniga: B - pretty decent starter at DE
Sandifer: F
Knight: F
Jackson: D-
Ivie: F
Davis: C - decent back up, suspended and injured
Buchanan: F
Johnson: B - decent starter at OLB
RDJ: F
Jackson: F
Ancrum: C - decent back up at DL
McCoy: B - OK starting center

So yeah, this first class didn't pan out well, but I don't think anyone can complain about that because it almost always happens like that. Still, out of your class that is juniors and RS sophomores, you would like to see more than 6 starters. And consider that of those 6 starters, 2 are suspended - that's a rough deal. Especially with how bad the 2014 class was for Muschamp.

2016
Clayton: C- - barely plays
Cleveland: A - best WR on the team with Callaway out
Gardner: B - decent starter at safety
Franks: C+ - still early, mediocre QB
Swain: C - contributing at WR, but nothing special
Thompson: C - expected big things, but is contributing at least
Hammond: C - contributing at WR, but nothing special
Moon: C+ - contributing at LB, has started a couple times
Smith: F
TayLor: D+ - playing some at safety
Massey: D -
Reese: A - staring LB, good player
Wells: F
Heggie: B+ - good starter at guard
Lenton: D - been hurt, hasn't played
Joseph: B - decent LB, starter
Polite: B+ - decent starter at DE
Taylor: B+ - SEC caliber RT
Forsythe: C - back up tackle
Putu: F
McWilliams: C- - has actually gotten on the field amazingly
Pineiro: A - starting kicker
Trask: F - will never play

UF is basically trying to lean on this 2016 class and the 2017 class which is too early to grade right now. They have 10 starters here and a ton of contributors, and unfortunately, many of them are B-C level players.

Mac really hamstrung himself by falling on his face in the 2016 class and not recruiting better that year.

Fake news, grading on a personal curve doesn't count, especially when you are trying to make a point with your own grading.

I am not going to break it down by player but the recruiting/development at QB, LB, and, S have been shite. Absolute flaming bag of shite. 8 and 23 should not be starting at safety and there are no elite LBs.

UF should be able to have several QBs with talent and be able to read a defense. This is not fricking mutually exclusive. Right now, I am missing a QB that could not keep a starting position at Purdue.

DE and RB are playing at "UF" level. DT is solid. Entering this season, I thought UF was in a good spot at WR, but it is not as deep as I thought. OL is solid at run blocking but not great. Pass pro is not good.

Ok, Lyle

Edit: 4 years is the timeline with Mac IMO if things are not turned around. Year 1 and 2 are the honeymoon period. Year 3 suckage = coordinator changes depending on were the issue are. Year 4 is the make or break year.

I just like bothering you.

I've made up my mind on the offensive staff. Not Mac.

His bad luck combined with some hiring mistakes may doom him but he still controls his own destiny this year.

So you gave JRob an F? I completely agree with you. I don't understand why we would take him in any class. I mean he is only one of the top wr's in his class. Now him having a heart condition should have been caught before we brought him in. Why would we give a scholarship to someone with a heart condition and can't play for the team. Definitely deserves an F for his condition.

We are 3-2 and we could legitimately be 0-5. Michigan is not a top 5 team. Vandy has returned to Vandy. Tenn has Butch Jones still. Kentcuky is still Kentucky and LSU is average at best.

We are in a protective philosophy all the time. We haven't recruited well enough to run the systems we run. At Miami Shannon had the guys to play the base defense, at Bama Mac had the Line, RB and game managing QB that could run this pro style offense. Our offense and Defensive system is outdated by 10 years. Coaches know how to beat a base 4-3 defense these days. The defense has played well enough to win games and we expected a bit of a fall off just due to personnel changes but the scheme is hurting us. We have had 3 games in a row with no turnovers now. When has a team last fumbled against us. We are so passive on defense zero aggressiveness at all. Our tackling is terrible we gave up 2 third and longs due to missed tackles leading to a score. We have a lack of fundamentals and aggression period. Good news CJ Henderson is 3rd on the team is scoring.

We were told the whole offseason about how great our O-line is. How the Florida speed is back. Where is the line. Where is the speed we cant get separation on routes. Mac is nothing more than a used car salesman at times. Righ now we are pretty much saying he is going to actually do something with resources he doesn't have yet on offense when he hasn't really shown that he can do much with what he already has.

We keep saying this coordinator sucks this coordinator sucks. If you have one bad coordinator out of the bunch its that guy but we are saying we got 3 or 4 that need to go at that point its on the guy that hired them.

We are ranked 74th in rushing right now. 3 of Muschamps 4 years were higher than that. In Macs 1st 32 games he has averaged 23.8ppg Muschamp in his first 32 games averaged 25.2ppg. Even if you put in our 2 cupcake games we lost saying we scored 45 points in each of those games Mac still averages less than 25.2ppg. 6-5 in our last 11 games.

We have the best punter and kicker in College football and we are still 48th ranked special teams. We are trending negative on both sides of the ball and special teams. We had Calloway and Scarlett last year. Still ranked over 100 on offense.

I didn't expect an SEC Championship or playoff birth I wanted progress. By the time Mac leaves his thumbprint on this team will be facility upgrades that is it.

Texas A&M is 41st in total offense right now even playing Bama with a 1st year QB. 31st In rushing. We are vulnerable against the run. The highest ranked offense we have played this year is LSU at 75.

Straws here is some quotes from you after the LSU game. So lets not pretend you never go off the deep end like some other people on this board.

"A retarded gameplan, Malik Davis doesn't get in the game until the third quarter. I'm done with McElwain. Even with the missing players, he can't even beat a team that just got trucked by Troy."

"To think a missed extra point lost it for us. Time to go coach shopping, though. We won't win another game this season."

Ok, so what does he have to do to make it to year 5? If he goes 8-5 in year 4 do we fire him then? We've already seen this movie before with Muschamp. Fire the OC and hope that year 4 is drastically different. Ended up being a wasted year. If we finish 5-6 I say we cut him loose. Isn't the goal to see improvement each year? I mean what makes ya'll think that things are going to get better? 3 years and the offense still looks the same. What must be done eventually should be done immediately...
