I don't think Napier likes throwing downfield much. He would much prefer safer passes in that little box. Even when Charlotte didn't change up late on the play we were refusing to attack a pass weak defense down the field much.

Against elite defenses this won't work, they will disguise coverages then choke off what they expect you to do. Play calling in the passing game has to improve. Maybe this week!

I am curious to see how we use Wilson against KY. Like some people are saying I am also wondering if KY will try to cheap shot him early in the game knowing he got banged up. KY is known for that mess.

WCO has been around since the 80s

That said, there’s no silver bullet offense or everybody would be running it by now

Nothing is changing during the season, do we really have to have this convo the next 4 months?

This is a discussion board.

I am very analytical about what I see, if we start losing I am sure many others will not be as calm in their criticism. Bottom line is based on the results, 3rd down conversions and red zone efficiency, changes in play calling need to happen. I hope that Napier isn't set in his way and too proud to change. Again, I'm not taking about making drastic changes to the offense, just open it up some and challenge the whole field. Go Gators! Beat Kentucky!

my hope is that our playcalling is just a reflection of not having to take many chances over the last few games.

the utah game still bothers me, but we need to beat teams like uk if we want to win 8 games this year.

Yeah especially with tomorrow being a road game.

I hope all that was just a result of the first game every with all the new players on the roster in a tough road environment against a ranked team.

Is it a discussion if it’s every day about something g that can’t possibly change right now?

Agreed. Utah left a bad taste in my mouth. It's like I'm just waiting for us to implode like we did in that game. Which is why I'll take ugly and pretty wins at this point. lol.

But yeah, I'm not high on this team on the road. I'm hoping our defense travels (which it should), but I see only little room for error with the offense as a whole.

If offense plays average to above average, I think we get the win.

Leary seems to have been turnover prone based on his stats and what some UK fans have said about him.

If we can exploit that and get tons of turnovers, we should win.

The issue is, as good as the defense has been so far, they haven't forced many turnovers.

Maybe they can buck the trend tomorrow.

True, I'm thinking defense plays well. I just hope offense scores enough points and avoid turnovers so we aren't in a slugfest at the end of the game. I think we lost the turnover battle in 3 of the 4 games so far.

I see Utah got pounded. Oregon State shut down their run game and they finally paid for not having Rising back at QB.

Looking like our old defense but luckily KY failed to score twice with wide open guys in the end zone.

I like taking the shot downfield, but that interception was a terrible throw into heavy coverage.
