You can hate Mac and thats fine, but to say things like this makes you look really foolish. As a Coach, all you can do is put those kids in position to have success. If they miss an open throw and catch it is what it is. We all have eyes, and we all saw the wrs running open many times in the game

A lot of guys had decided what they thought about McElwain WAY early -- and they were ghosts when we beat Iowa last year. The fact is, every fricking coach says shite like McElwain does.

Every coach gets rid of Grier -- except maybe Auburn.

"Best I can tell you right now is what I've already said," Harbaugh said. "We turned the ball over too many times offensively.

"We had our opportunities."

"I don't know," Harbaugh said. "We're bowing our necks getting ready for the next game. That's our reaction."

The anointed one -- ''I don't know'', there's the great coach people were touting earlier.

I can definitely say one thing with certainty: If O'Korn had played against us, we would have won.

Strange how an injured quarterback can turn the best of teams terrible and head coaches to say shite like:

''I don't know.''

Dropped a walk in pick 6 vs LSU, missed a PAT to not tie. Had close to the same yardage and firstdowns as they did.Scored just as many td's and fg's as they did. Totally shut them down in the 2nd half. Yet, we suck worst than all teams in the SEC.

A&M, held them to their lowest offensive output for the season. We had over 100 yards more offense than they did. This while missing open wrs, one TE was w i d e open for a big score that turns the tide. 2 picks that shouldnt have been thrown to begin with. A&M held Bama to their 2nd lowest scoring game this season, we both held A&M to 19 points.. well below their avg.
We suck worst than all teams in the SEC

Because we lost to 2 teams that are doing pretty damn well right now.. by 3 points. Combined.

Even more so: We've done so without our most important offensive weapons in both games.

Both starting safeties out against A&M, a cornerback playing safety , freshmen all over the secondary, underclassmen all at linebacker (not a single scholarship upperclassman), defensive line looking monstrous.

This fanbase is acrid, there's no way around it.

If you can lose 17 scholarship players and still somehow manage to hang with A&M and outproduce Alabama and get shite on, I'm not sure why anyone would want to coach here.

LSU beat a top ten team after they beat us, A&M played Alabama until the last minute.

And we were a field goal away from beating them both -- without 17 scholarship players.

The last time we lost that many players Georgia Southern beat us.

I hope our fans can get some common sense soon.

This! Like I said a few times already, i understand what Mac walked into. But still in year 3 you wanna see a curve in offensive production. Ie, QB's moving the team up and down the field. I understand the guys we got were castoffs from other schools and yeah, maybe they just arent CFB QB's. But the fact that not even Macs own guy who sat on the bench for a year cannot move this offense with any kind of consistency is upsetting.

Are you still on Zaires dick? He's on Treons as far as a QB goes. He doesn't fit the system even if he could pass.

UK gifted 2 TDs. UT Missed 3 FGs and fumbled a TD away. Just as much as you guys think we're so close to 5-1 we're just as close to 1-5. And yet we're 3-3. You are what your record says you are. USC is out multiple starters on both sides of the ball over 20 guys and yet was down 21-7 and came back to win. Drop the excuses. Any problems with the roster are Macs fault. It's year 3.

Lets all take a step back for a minute. We are holding this kid to a standard of Will Grier now, not what Will Grier was when he was here. And that was pretty avg-lets be honest-. We just blew it up over time in our minds because watching Treon for a season will do that to anyone.

I have done it myself, watching WVU play as WG rains td's all over the field thinking damnit, why?? Why did we not tell him whatever he wanted to hear to keep him around?.
So, being at work tonight and very bored, I went back to the season Will played and it brought back some memories, good and bad.
Game 1 vs NMSt. Split time with Treon.. Yes, even Treon had a good game vs that team so take it fwiw. Will had 166 yards 16-18 with 2 tds. Treon also had 2tds = their D sucked.
Game 2 vs Eastern Carolina. Will has 151 yards with 2 tds and a pick going 10-17 that day.
Game 3 vs KY. First SEC game, Will goes 13-22 for 125 yards with 0 tds and a pick. KY won 5 games that yr.
Game 4 vs Tennessee. I remember watching this game, being very pissed as the offense floundered around most of the game until the big play to Callaway late that won it. Will was 23-42 for 283 yards with 2 tds and a pick. UT went 9-4.
Game 5 vs Ole Miss. This was the best the team played that season as they just rolled OM in every phase of the game. Will was 24-29 for 271 with 4 tds and we all thought ok, here we go. Look out! OM went 10-3.
Game 6 vs Mizzou. Will goes 20-33 for 208 yards with zero td's and zero picks. Mizzou won 5 games.
So to total it up in 6 games Will avg'd 201 yards a game, had 10 td's with 3 picks... Pretty good huh? Well lets take away the cupcakes to even this out for a sec. Vs SEC teams, in 4 games Will avg'd 222 yards a game with 6 tds and 2 picks. 4 of those td's came in one game. Keep in mind, 2 of those teams only won 5 games all season.

Now lets bring in Franks, who ran into a buzzsaw in Michigan, his first game as a starter. 75 yards, 0 td's and 0 picks. Benched and the backup didnt do any better.
Game 2 is cancelled. I think this really hurt Franks and the offense as they couldve used this game to gain some continuity.
Game 3 vs Tennessee. Franks has a decent game for his first conf game, goes 18-28 for 212 yards 2 tds and a pick. Game winner late.
Game 4 vs a hyped up KY, playing their superbowl ready to get a 30 yr monkey off their backs. Franks goes 7-12 for 85 yards with a td. Benched
Game 5 vs Vandy. Franks comes off the bench to go 10-14 for 185 yards. hitting a big pass to Tyrie before the half that changed the tone of the game.
Game 6 vs LSU. No Tyrie- 10-16 for 108. Nothing great but no turnovers. Keep in mind this LSU D held Stidham to 165 yards with a td on 9 of 26 passing. Yes, 9-26.
Game 7 vs A&M. Franks goes 17-26 for 129 0 td's and 2 picks. Missed open wrs all over the field vs one of the top sack / tfl teams in the SEC. A&M also held Hurts to 123 yards passing FWIW
So in their games vs Conf foes
Will in 4 games avg'd 220 yards a game with 6 td's 2 picks. As i said earlier,4 came in 1 game. He went 2 games with 0 td's.
Franks in 5 games avg is 144 yards a game with 3 td's, 3 picks. Went 3 games with zero td's.
Also fwiw Grier had his full compliment of weapons with a few cupcake teams to get a timing set with them. Franks was thrown into the fire vs a top team and hasnt had a cupcake game up to this point. I believe we made UT quit, they havent been the same since the late win. KY,LSU and A&M are all good teams. LSU just beat Auburn and A&M held it close vs Bama until the end. We are KY's only loss.

That all said, Franks needs time. Maybe he's hearing footsteps, who knows. He was flushed out of the pocket when he missed the open TE for a would be score vs A&M, and LSU's defense as we saw vs Auburn -a top offense- is pretty dang good. Doesnt help we played those games without Tyrie and Toney, his 2 best weapons and its pretty obvious he and Tyrie have a very good connection.

Bomb away, idgaf. Just sayin, we need to keep in mind the circumstances surrounding this kid. I thought the same thing many have saying we need to start Zaire. At this point I say let it ride. Kid needs reps to get better and Zaire is not long for UF so why waste them on him with the fact that we wont win the East this year anyway.

Talking about being on someone's dick when you were allllllll over your precious Harbaugh/Jimbo all year. ''Why can't McElwain be like Harbaugh.''

Hey, without a quarterback all of our offenses are shite, you got your wish.

You've seen Zaire play once and you're ready to discount him but all I'm saying is:

The team needs something. We have two weeks now to get Franks ready to go. He needs time to start to get better, because he's not the natural baller that they have at other programs. He's hesitant, he doesn't pull the trigger and when he does it turns into negative plays.

Interceptions, running out of bounds and really just overall poor decision making.

If Zaire can help us beat Georgia because he's a good running quarterback, you seriously don't want him?

shite, I'd even say let Toney get some snaps. Something needs to spark this offense at quarterback, and if the coaching staff refuses to *drastically* change the offensive mentality, and I mean:

Run jet-sweeps almost as often as LSU if not a bit more, double Hback in the backfield, spread the ball out with more receivers -- basically do what Texas A&M did.

Then I don't want Franks back there getting his body and mind crushed every down because our coaches are basically slamming a round object into a square receptor. Save Franks body and mentality, let Zaire suck it up -- make him shut up, too.

What it does:

Stops the negative drama if Zaire goes in and shits himself because McElwain can say: Look, I tried everything and this punk got what he wanted.

Gives the opposing defense something else to prepare for.

I don't even know if Zaire will do any better, maybe he looks like a deer in headlights, but we have to do something.
